Turn your eyes upon Jesus

1
O soul, are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There’s light for a look at the Savior,
And life more abundant and free.
  Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
  In the light of His glory and grace.
2
Through death into life everlasting
He passed, and we follow Him there;
O’er us sin no more hath dominion
For more than conqu’rors we are!
3
His Word shall not fail you, He promised;
Believe Him and all will be well;
Then go to a world that is dying,
His perfect salvation to tell!

Thank you. It’s a wonderful song and instruction. Truly Jesus is kinder and more capable than we understand. Blessings. 🌻

The line which really inspires me is "the things of the earth will grow strangely dim" And I am praying will full hope that as I look unto Jesus I will be blind to see the beauty of the worldly pleasures.

And thanks alot for posting this hymn

Thank you so much for posting this song. Was looking for it and found your website, what a blessing since I do not play an instrument and now can get the melody right instead of making one up. My Mom has dementia and only God gets me through and gives me His joy and peace. It feels like riding a roller coaster sometimes but He is faithful and singing praises to Him is vital to receiving His ongoing strength. Thank you!

I had this hymn running through my mind this morning. Thank you for publishing it. Thank you for this comment section.

One of the comments really stood out to me and it is so special I copied it for future reference. Sandy of Montreal, Canada on 10/17/19. Focus was my God given word for 2019 and anytime I see this word it captures my attention.

The comparisons she makes of mother and baby I can relate to very easily as children are very special to me. I love the part that she says to Deliberately turn my eyes, shift focus. Yes it does require us to participate in order to receive His full blessings.

THANK YOU, ALL for your comments!

I love this song🥰 so perfect dealing with my mom who has dementia. I do have some help I’ve added it into our budget. It’s through Catholic charities “Be our guest” $$$ it’s been an answer to my prayers. She really enjoys it and she loves the person who drives her, this group is also a blessing. I am so thankful for them. So this song was wonderful to sing at this moment!!! 😑thank you. C🌷

I was deeply moved when I read several of these comments. It's especially uplifting for me when I hear from fellow believers who reside in different countries than my own. Lately, I have been feeling sad and alone because it seems like it's hard to find true practicers of the Faith around me. So, thank you for leaving your comments, they were a great blessing to my soul 😊❤

I have personally seen things of this world grow strangely dim. Christ has shown His Sovereignty over things meant for me and those not for me.

This song greatly relates with a day to day life of a believer

I listened to this hymn a few days ago. I have known and sang it for years, but it made me very emotional this time around. I can't get it out of my head! Am thinking about the loving wonderful face of Jesus, looking down at me. I visualize the love , grace of a mother holding a baby in their arms, and the security the baby feels knowing that everything else around is diminished and insignificant because of the love in those comforting eyes.

'The light of His Glory and Grace' makes all other things small! What comfort!

My work remains to deliberately turn my eyes, shift focus, look to where there is that wonderful face. May He continue to guide the movements of my neck!
