My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus Christ, my righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.

When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.
When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.

His oath, His covenant, His blood,
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.
His oath, His covenant, His blood,
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.

When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
In Him, my righteousness, alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
In Him, my righteousness, alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.
When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
In Him, my righteousness, alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
In Him, my righteousness, alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.

Grab a hymnal. Your words are wrong.

He will always be my hope and stay when all around my soul gives way. Thank You Jesus.

That is beautiful.
This song helps me to remember that Jesus is my solid rock when nothing else can stand. Loved ones leave, riches fly away, human wisdom fails, but He's always with me. What an encouragement for me. Let those who don't know what am saying just try Jesus. He never fails you.
This blessed hymn takes me back to my childhood days when my faith and trust in the Lord was unflatering...
Am reminded that even now in my youth am but a child in the eyes of the Lord and I need to trust once again in His righteousness and unchanging grace.
Amen and Amen.

An evergreen, ever reassuring, ever lifting. Hymns are from the Spirit not from emotions. God be blessed for ever.

I am so grateful. He is the reason that I can face tomorrow. I love You Father! You are the lifter of my head and fhe reason that I sing. Hope thou in God.

The 'veils' do come sometimes to make unreal, far away but 'my anchor holds' looking unto the author and finisher of my faith. Thank You Lord!
