Out of my shameful failure and loss,
Jesus, I come! Jesus, I come!
Into the glorious gain of Thy cross,
    Jesus, I come to Thee!
Out of earth’s sorrows into Thy balm,
Out of life’s storm and into Thy calm,
Out of distress to jubilant psalm,
    Jesus, I come to Thee!
Out of my shameful failure and loss,
Jesus, I come! Jesus, I come!
Into the glorious gain of Thy cross,
    Jesus, I come to Thee!
Out of earth’s sorrows into Thy balm,
Out of life’s storm and into Thy calm,
Out of distress to jubilant psalm,
    Jesus, I come to Thee!

Out of unrest and arrogant pride,
Jesus, I come! Jesus, I come!
Into Thy blessed will to abide,
    Jesus, I come to Thee!
Out of myself to dwell in Thy love,
Out of despair into raptures above,
Upward for aye on wings like a dove,
    Jesus, I come to Thee!
Out of unrest and arrogant pride,
Jesus, I come! Jesus, I come!
Into Thy blessed will to abide,
    Jesus, I come to Thee!
Out of myself to dwell in Thy love,
Out of despair into raptures above,
Upward for aye on wings like a dove,
    Jesus, I come to Thee!

Out of the fear and dread of the tomb,
Jesus, I come! Jesus, I come!
Into the joy and pleasure, Thine own,
    Jesus, I come to Thee!
Out of the depths of ruin untold,
Into the flock Thy love doth enfold,
Ever Thy glorious face to behold,
    Jesus, I come to Thee!
Out of the fear and dread of the tomb,
Jesus, I come! Jesus, I come!
Into the joy and pleasure, Thine own,
    Jesus, I come to Thee!
Out of the depths of ruin untold,
Into the flock Thy love doth enfold,
Ever Thy glorious face to behold,
    Jesus, I come to Thee!

So grateful for this site. I have looked thru my many hymnals and old song books with no luck. Only remembering a few words makes it really tricky finding the hymn, but you did it in seconds. Thank you so much. Now I can get back to the settings where we sang it.

Alleluia! What comfort to know we can get our of all the negatives and find rest in the positives and more that our beloved Lord has to offer. This song has been and continues to be a source of tremendous blessing to me over the years.

Thanks to you for this great service that you provide.

Blessings!

I love this hymn indeed. Whenever I am seeking God's deliverance in any area of my life, I normally repent my sins and most of the time I am led by the Holy Spirit to sing this hymn. It really ushers me into God's presence.

I thank God for the pastor who started our Pentecostal church (which has grown into several assemblies for the last 15 years). This pastor was has since gone back to Canada was used by God to nurture the church members in walking in holiness and singing in hymns alot. I attribute my love for hymns to his mentorship. Glory be to God.

This song spells out various aspects in our lives. I love Stanza 3 best. May the good Lord help us as we meditate upon the wonderful words.

Never usually put comments on websites! But looked up this hymn because I recently revisited a football ground in London, 29 years after attending a Luis Palau "Mission to London" rally as a student. As someone has commented on a Billy Graham rally, this hymn was also used at the altar call at the Mission to London. Thank God for the love and commitment of people who work tirelessly to share the salvation they have received with others.

The hymn reaches to the deepest valley within and uplifts the soul to the highest zenith. Thank You, Jesus, for Your sacrifice that makes these possible. The posted comments of others have multiplied my blessing.

Wonderful tune, beautiful lyrics composed many years ago yet I can relate with every piece of this music. It is among a collection of hymns I have been listening to lately, bringing me into total awareness of Christ's boundless love...

Stanza 4 is re-translated:

4. Out of the might of death of the foe,

Jesus, I come! Jesus, I come!

Into the life that Christ does bestow,

Jesus, I come to Thee!

Out of the hopeless, endless abyss,

Into the home of refuge and bliss,

E'er to behold Thy face, glorious;

Jesus, I come to Thee!
