My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus Christ, my righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.

When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.
When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;

His oath, His covenant, His blood,
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.
His oath, His covenant, His blood,
Support me in the whelming flood;

When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.

When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
In Him, my righteousness, alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
In Him, my righteousness, alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.
When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
In Him, my righteousness, alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
In Him, my righteousness, alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.

Hard times always catch us by surprise but shouldn't if you are a child of the loving Father. This is the first song I run to when I hear of the woes of the New York Stock Exchange. People depended on people to be honest but greed has made that thinking seem naive. Trust the Lord with all your heart; lean not on your own understanding. Acknowledge Him in all your ways and He will direct your path. On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand....can't find peace in ourselves unless the Christ lives within. Ask Him today, if you haven't already.

It's not just faith that my expectations are built on, but faith in the message of Jesus.
And in that message are amazing promises, outrageous hopes, and incredible assurances.
But the message is not enough. Anyone can write a spiritual science fiction version of some utopia, something we all would wish to be true.
However, the message of Jesus is built on the reality of who Jesus really is. Only God, with infinite resources and influence can finance such outrageous hopes that Jesus encouraged us to believe. Only God can do what is necessary to underwrite the cost of such startling glory.
And that is exactly who Jesus is, the Right Hand of God, The Only Begotton of the Father, The Word of the Very God, God with us...
The Father said of Jesus, "This is my Beloved Son, in whom I am very pleased. Listen to him!
You can count on Him.
My home is built on nothing less.

My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood, the only way to the Father! Thank you, Jesus!
