Turn your eyes upon Jesus

Encouragement For Fellowship with the Lord

English645
1
O soul, are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There’s light for a look at the Savior,
And life more abundant and free.

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.
2
Through death into life everlasting
He passed, and we follow Him there;
O’er us sin no more hath dominion
For more than conqu’rors we are!
3
His Word shall not fail you, He promised;
Believe Him and all will be well;
Then go to a world that is dying,
His perfect salvation to tell!

Sometimes the world makes us feel so tired, weary and troubled. But praise the Lord no matter the situation we can turn our eyes upon Him. Look full in His wonderful face!

Going through a very difficult season in my life and this song came to mind this morning. I have only known the chorus for more than 40 years, but I had the thought that maybe there were verses to this song. Thank You, LORD, for finding the full song on the Internet and for this website, with testimonies how this song has encouraged other believers from around the world It has helped me to turn my eyes upon Jesus again.

Just about healed from a broken relationship when my ex girlfriend walks into church, sits behind me with her new boyfriend and hold hands with him while praying. That hurt.

This song puts everything back in perspective for me as His love for me makes all else dim.

I sing an old one on my way to work-- There's within my heart a melody , Jesus whispers sweet and low. "Fear not I am with thee peace be still" keeps me singing as I go. Jesus Jesus Jesus sweetest name I know fills my every longing, keeps me singing as I go.

I thank the LORD for my brothers and sisters in the comments below. It's so easy to look on the things in this world and become distracted from the real truth of our Lord and Savior. Things can not fill our hearts like Jesus.

Our Pastor Stephen Davey's closed his teaching last week with this song and being new to the Faith I did not know it. I keep humming it all week and it is really true to turn your eyes on Jesus then the things of this world become dim because of His glory and grace. If you are feeling down, anxious, fearful, sad, angry, unloved, abandoned just know Jesus is always with you and this song will definitely lift your spirit. I hope you know Him, but if you don't know He died for you and the entire world and anyone who believes on Him will be saved. For He rose from the dead to demonstrate eternal life which is available if you would believe on Him.
