Jesus, my Savior, to Bethlehem came

Gospel The Savior

English989
1
Jesus, my Savior, to Bethlehem came,
Laid in a manger to sorrow and shame;
O it was wonderful, blest be His name,
Seeking for me, for me:

Seeking for me, for me,
Seeking for me, for me;
O it was wonderful, blest be His name,
Seeking for me, for me.
2
Jesus, my Savior, on Calvary’s tree
Paid the great debt, and my soul He set free;
O it was wonderful—how could it be?
Dying for me, for me!

Dying for me, for me,
Dying for me, for me;
O it was wonderful—how could it be?
Dying for me, for me!
3
Jesus, my Savior, the same as of old,
While I was wand’ring in darkness and cold,
Gently and long did He plead with my soul,
Calling for me, for me!

Calling for me, for me,
Calling for me, for me;
Gently and long did He plead with my soul,
Calling for me, for me!
4
Jesus, my Savior, shall come from on high.
Sweet is the promise as weary years fly:
O I shall see Him descend from the sky,
Coming for me, for me!

Coming for me, for me,
Coming for me, for me;
O I shall see Him descend from the sky,
Coming for me, for me!

I first heard this hymn during the priestly ordination of my friend in 2020, and ever since then the song resonate deeply with me. Jesus is seeking for me. O it's so wonderful, I will follow him. Amen.

I have heard and known this song since I was a lad and this morning it 30, the song resounds and resonates with my spirit so deeply and friendly that I can't stop imagining what the Lord saw in me to have sought for me even before I came to be. He has not stopped seeking and calling for me and oh! It is wonderful to know that He keeps calling for me and will come again to take me home.

Hallelujah to His name alone❗❗❗

I learned the song as a young girl in the Luo language as I attended church with my grandmother and later sang it in high school as part of worship. And today it ministered to my soul just as it had touched me in the early years. Blessed be the Lord who came and died for my sins. It is indeed wonderful

I went to a Quaker (Friends) high school where we'd sing hymns in a hymn book called Golden Bells. This one song nags at my soul in such a beautiful way, often.

I just finished reading my Sabbath school lesson talking about God's mission plan to save us by sending Jesus to be born and to die to save us and come again the second time to take us to our Heavenly Home! This song is climactic of Redemption story!! Glory to the Lord our Creator 🙌❤️🙏
