Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee;
Let the water and the blood,
From Thy riven side which flowed,
Be of sin the double cure,
Save me from its guilt and power.

Not the labor of my hands
Can fulfill Thy law’s demands;
Could my zeal no respite know,
Could my tears forever flow,
All could never sin erase,
Thou must save, and save by grace.
Not the labor of my hands
Can fulfill Thy law’s demands;
Could my zeal no respite know,
Could my tears forever flow,
All could never sin erase,
Thou must save, and save by grace.

Nothing in my hands I bring,
Simply to Thy cross I cling;
Naked, come to Thee for dress,
Helpless, look to Thee for grace:
Foul, I to the fountain fly,
Wash me, Savior, or I die.
Nothing in my hands I bring,
Simply to Thy cross I cling;
Naked, come to Thee for dress,
Helpless, look to Thee for grace:
Foul, I to the fountain fly,
Wash me, Savior, or I die.

While I draw this fleeting breath,
When mine eyes shall close in death,
When I soar to worlds unknown,
See Thee on Thy judgment throne,
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee.
While I draw this fleeting breath,
When mine eyes shall close in death,
When I soar to worlds unknown,
See Thee on Thy judgment throne,
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee.

"Song of Rock," ICR devotional 2/11/24
PTL!

Indeed Jesus is our solid Rock on which we stand, all others are sinking sand.
Mt. Rainier, Maryland, United States
Reading the story of how this song was written, the minister hid in a cleft of a large rock to escape a sudden rainstorm was so inspired to write the wonderful lyrics and melody. Our Lord wanted this song to be given to us

This song always remind me that I have nothing by my strength but God and that I should always abide in him to triumph.

I just woke up from a dream where I saw my twin and her daughter, Ella plaiting their hairs by themselves and I was also plaiting my hair (all same hair style). Then, I left the attachment in a room and kept plaiting my long natural hair alone (all of us were plaiting strands and not weaving) while walking down towards a church that is getting crowded gradually. Then, a concert was going on. I found myself outside the church still walking about and making the hair then, I saw a group of believers/crowd holding their hands outside the church to prevent passerbys causing distractions (INSIDE was filled up already) They want to listen to the music the next singer/minstrel will minister. I then recognized my twin's voice and her daughter.. But, the voices were not audible as they were cracked and as if catarrh has caught up with their throats so that the organizers wanted to excuse them off the stage (there and then, in the dream, God revealed to me that it was an ATTACK.. So, , I quickly rushed in, picked the mic, changed the key and led the song
(Rock of Ages cleft for me..") beautifully and loud enough that everybody could here clearly, SING ALONG and WORSHIPPED GOD! Then, I woke up and started singing it as it dropped in my heart at this "almost midnight hour" that God wanted me to open my mouth and sing it as prayers.. then, I decided to browse on google for the complete song with piano to sing it loudly as it ministered to me that there's a reason God revealed the song to me and made me sing it.
It is good
