I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice

1
I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
  And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith,
  And be closer drawn to Thee.

Draw me nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
  To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
    To Thy precious, bleeding side.
2
Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
  By the pow’r of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
  And my will be lost in Thine.
3
O the pure delight of a single hour
  That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God,
  I commune as friend with friend!
4
There are depths of love that I yet may know
  Ere Thee face to face I see;
There are heights of joy that I yet may reach
  Ere I rest in peace with Thee.

EXPERIENCING THE INDWELLING CHRIST

--------------

The problem many believers have is that they have been religiously indoctrinated regarding the objective aspect of the Lord’s coming, to the neglect of the subjective aspect. They pay their full attention to the Christ in heaven and firmly believe in His coming back. However, they neglect the fact of the indwelling Christ, perhaps not even realizing that Christ is now within them. As we are awaiting Christ’s coming back from the heavens, we need to enjoy Him inwardly. The Lord Jesus said, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him and he with Me” (Rev. 3:20). The Lord’s word here indicates that He is here already. How we need to experience the living, subjective, indwelling Christ!

Calling on God at Set Times

-------------------

Psalm 55:17 says, “Evening and morning and at noontime / I complain and moan, / And He hears my voice. ” This indicates that we need to have set times of prayer, not as a rigid practice but as a living principle. In principle, if we live before God, we should have a set time to draw near to Him. The morning is the best time to draw near to God, but even when we are in an office or doing other things, we should also learn this lesson. When we are busy, we should return to our spirit to contact God. Even if we do so for only half a minute, we can receive supply from the Lord. A person who lives before God should always have set times to call on God.

Message 13 The holy People Experiencing God through Their Suffering Together with Christ and being Glorified Together with Him (LSM)

This maybe my favorite hymn from Fanny Crosby. One of her crosses was her blindness. In the last verse she says she now sees the love of God. There is no complaining about the suffering of the cross but just the idea that the result of the cross is being closer to Christ. The resulting closeness, lets us see Christ clearer and we automatically consecrate ourselves more to him. To desire to be closer to Jesus’ side is very deep and is the result of love! Lord draw me nearer! Certainly we see there will always be depths of Christ’s love that we have not seen. This song is about experience and by it I have become able to realize the value of the cross in my life. I can say this is a desirable experience. This hymn inspires me to go deeper into Christ’s love.

I am teaching on the life of Jesus. As I woke this morning, I was praying Lord, give me the thoughts and revelation that you want me to share. This song came to mind.

I was in a prayer meeting and a fried he is been pulled into a closer fellowship. For three days he has been given the name "Enoch"in his spirit. I realized that "Enoch" means 'rededication'--and then this Hymn started sounding in my memory. I learned it in the early '70s, at the four-square church my grandmother would take me every Sunday as a small boy. I praise the Father for faithful grandmothers.

It came to my spirit after I read my Bible. Indeed I commune as friend with friend. Thank you Lord.

This song came to me this morning during my quiet time and I know that only Jesus Christ can lay His body for my sake and by drawing me closer to Himself will grant me victory over sin. Thank you for this song. It is up-lifting..
