I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice

I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
  And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith,
  And be closer drawn to Thee.
  Draw me nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
  To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
    To Thy precious, bleeding side.
Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
  By the pow’r of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
  And my will be lost in Thine.
O the pure delight of a single hour
  That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God,
  I commune as friend with friend!
There are depths of love that I yet may know
  Ere Thee face to face I see;
There are heights of joy that I yet may reach
  Ere I rest in peace with Thee.

This morning I sensed that the Lord wanted me to spend time with Him. I am sitting on my balcony with a cup of tea, pen, paper and phone. I have no pre-planned agenda. The first thing that I heard from the Lord was, "Draw Me Nearer." We used to sing this song in days past, but I didnt remember all the words.

As I looked up these words and sang them, I waa attracted to the third verse. I remember singing all of the verses, but not this one. It is talking about spending an hour with Jesus as "friend to friend." Did we skip this verse? Or did I just skip it? Whatever the case, this confirmed that Lord wants to spend time with me as "friend to friend" today. Times with true friends are always refreshing and sometimes enlightening. I am expecting this "friend" time to be both. Jesus, thank you for the invitation.

I gladly accept it!

As I woke up this morning thinking of the death of my brother that occurred yesterday , this song came to my mind. I have never understood the lyrics as I am today. I believe we will be closer to God than ever.

I woke up this morning with this song and with a great conviction that the plague happening in the world today will draw many to the Lord.

This is a call for intimacy and true discipleship, knowing that we belong to Him whatever may be.

After several hours of spending quality time in God's presence, reading and studying His word, praying, worshing and waiting on Him....

Deu4: 34 in particular stood out to me of how God delivered Isreal in a way that no one had ever experienced before just like what the world is going through now all for a singular purpose of them becoming His own special people. The Spirit of God ministered to me to follow hard after Him and He will help me stand Rock solid and immediately He put this hymn in my heart . Truely the song is my prayer at this unsual times. How awesome. Thank you Jesus ❤

Got up for my quiet time this morning and God placed this song in my heart. This is all we need at this time of storm—nearness to God. As the entire world is shutting down O Lord draw us closer to yourself.

Woke up early this morning with this hymn in mind. When I looked up the lyrics I found this thread. Blessings to my fellow followers of the Lord.

As I was meditating this morning , God put this one on my heart as I was praying! Beautiful how He works! Singing it back to Him!
