I sang this song on the school bus to my church's Summer Bible camp outside of Somerset, WI in the late 1960s. We, the entire busload of kids, would end with -
"The city of our great King.
Sing it over...
Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised"
That way we could greatly praise the Lord all the way from Minneapolis to Somerset with this wonderful song!

I woke up to have my quiet time with the Lord. I read from. I read Psalms 133134 & 135. This song just pop up in me and I started singing , joy and peace fills me up. I had a beautiful time in our God's presence... May His presence be ours today. Hallelujah.
It's May 25, 2026. I heard this song again in my sleep. I don't know why but it's so great to have this indescribable feeling of a longing that must be met. The fellowship of the holy spirit. Indeed he would pour his spirit on all flesh

This memory of singing this song back in the seventies and eighties when I committed my life to Christ came back to me this morning as I am reading and pondering Ezekiel Chapters 40 and 41, a description of the Temple. Jesus tells us HE went away to prepare our mansion in glory. How great is our GOD!!!

Just read Lamentations 2:15 and was reminded of this song, couldn’t remember all the lyrics so came here to find it. We sang “beautiful in situation” which can mean placement I think? I love how God has brought so many of us here, all in different ways and through different scriptures.
