Turn your eyes upon Jesus

1
O soul, are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There’s light for a look at the Savior,
And life more abundant and free.
  Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
  In the light of His glory and grace.
2
Through death into life everlasting
He passed, and we follow Him there;
O’er us sin no more hath dominion
For more than conqu’rors we are!
3
His Word shall not fail you, He promised;
Believe Him and all will be well;
Then go to a world that is dying,
His perfect salvation to tell!

Amen turn your eyes upon Jesus and nothing else.

This hymn was my lifeline through 2016. Reminded me of Jehoshaphat when the vast army was approaching. He said "we do not know what to do. But our eyes are FIXED on You"

When the storms of life are raging in our homes, in our marriage, with our children, in our life's circumstances, in our hearts and minds. Remember the diciples went to Jesus during the storm, they went to Him because He was their only Hope. The word "went" means to depart from to go elsewhere. Where do we go to, when we depart from our troubles? Do we go to our neighbor, alcohol, medication? Or do we turn our eyes to Jesus as Jehoshaphat did. God's word says " I look to the hills from whence cometh my help, my help cometh from the Lord who made heaven and earth" these reminders have been my source of encouragement and strength through 2016. I desire in 2017 to live at the foot of the Cross of my Saviour in reverance and humble submission, and look up, turn my eyes to Jesus.

I awake in the early morning hours thinking about the distance between my son, daughter in law and grandson. The words of this song began to fill my mind and heart with God's love...what comfort and peace. The cares of my family are in the arms of the Lord!

The Lord put this hymn on my heart and I sang it to my dying cousin, while she was on life support on December 2, 2016. She passed later that day. I don't believe she knew Jesus as her Savior and my heart is broken. I need to share the gospel and no longer live in fear of rejection! Please pray!

Have been meditating on Romans 12:2 ... Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--His good pleasing & perfect will.

Thank You Lord for the lyrics of this old hymn! It is my prayer/song in the middle of the night! I praise Your Holy name!

Shirley,

God will wrap His arms around you and guide you.

He will give you His peace as you follow Him closely.

While we suffer the consequences of our actions here, He is a very gracious God. He works all things together for our good - He has forgiven any sin involved. He will guide You. Trust Him, even if it seems there is no clear path.

I did a most most horrendous thing.

I broke off with my husband a non believer; over a silly selfish thing and fear of my belief in God being shaken by his non belief.

Due to my extreme shocking breaking up with him, he turned to another woman and made a commitment to her.

Hence he couldn't return to me now.

I don't know what is God's Will now.

I suffered sleeplessness and now has to take medication.

I prayed God will be merciful, heal me and reunite us.

This hymn is my lifeline.

When I am stressed by the cares of the day and cannot sleep, I find comfort and peace in the chorus of this old familiar hymn.
