Through all the changing scenes of life

Comfort in Trials By Trusting the Lord

English714
1
Through all the changing scenes of life,
In trouble and in joy,
The praises of my God shall still
My heart and tongue employ.
2
Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
With me exalt His name;
When in distress to Him I called,
He to my rescue came.
3
The hosts of God encamp around
The dwellings of the just;
Deliverance He affords to all
Who on His succor trust.
4
Oh, make but trial of His love,
Experience will decide
How blest they are, and only they,
Who in His truth confide.
5
Fear Him, ye saints, and you will then
Have nothing else to fear;
Make you His service your delight,
Your wants shall be His care.

Just what I need to lift my spirit when people will just gossip about you and will lie about you. My tongue will continue to sing Your praise because You give me double honor in place of shame. I love You Lord❤️

The death of Queen Elizabeth II this week had brought great sadness to me, but this hymn floated into my mind when I needed it and has brought comfort and solace. It has been years since I have sung it or thought of it, but the Holy Spirit has lifted me and supported me as I have sung the words and pondered upon them.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to comment.

Just woke up with the chorus being sang by my wife and me in a dream. I'm glad to locate it hear- though with another tune. Thanks!

We must keep on remembering God in Praise even when we are sad, and not only when we are happy (vs 1)

In distress, we must magnify Him (vs 2)

We must be conscious that God is always there to deliver us (vs 3)

Testing from His love is germane. Experience will tell how blest one is. (vs 4)

All he wants is for us to FEAR HIM and there is NO SHAKING (vs 5)

This hymn is one of my favourites.

What a beautiful hymn, love it to bits. Brings beautiful memories of my late Dad, I often heard him humming along to this hymn.

This truly brings comfort and assurance that regardless of what I go through in life, God is with me. The seasons of life varies but God never changes. He takes care of His own. You don't know the awesomeness of God until you trust in Him and experience Him.
