Turn your eyes upon Jesus

Encouragement For Fellowship with the Lord

English645
1
O soul, are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There’s light for a look at the Savior,
And life more abundant and free.

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.
2
Through death into life everlasting
He passed, and we follow Him there;
O’er us sin no more hath dominion
For more than conqu’rors we are!
3
His Word shall not fail you, He promised;
Believe Him and all will be well;
Then go to a world that is dying,
His perfect salvation to tell!

I woke up to see a devotional with the name of this song on it and I was trying to remember the words that led me to this site. Today is 9-11-26 I needed to sing this song because of the memories.

This chorus came unbidden to me in the wee morning hours. I had to search for it when I got out of bed. The truths in this song are so very powerful when put into practice. Today I am pressing in. I want to look full in His face and be in the light of His glory and grace.

This morning, I was pained/disturbed because of the unpleasant matters facing me and I cried but even in my weariness I didn't forget God, into prayers and this song came up. So I started to play and go through the lyrics.

In such a world fill of circumstances of life that makes us sorrowful and weary, all we need is God's words, help and strength. Lord, I have no where or any to turn to or to cast my worries on except You. Please God, magnify yourself in my life. I love You, JESUS.

May God bless you for the uplifting hymn.

What a gem of a hymn we need to pray over each line when we are in circumstances that are not good and pray these words as they are so very tue in good but hard times we forget but for the true beliver we can turn our eyes on Him look into His wonderful face and may we go into the world and share his message of salvation which is desperately needed today

Lovely hymn as a prayer

Yours in His wonderful name

When I was 14, this was the leading song every meeting at a traveling gospel conference I attended in Wichita Kansas.

This song was deeply impressed into my being when I first got saved.

Many times as I’ve gone through life and things got very hard, very difficult… sometimes the Lord would remind me of this song to encourage me and simplify my vision again. Look away to Jesus… Look at Jesus. Just stop everything you’re doing and just spend time with Jesus brother or sister.

"And I saw in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures and in the midst of the elders a Lamb standing as having just been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth." (Revelation 5:6) Recovery Version

The seven Spirits are the seven eyes by which Christ expresses Himself. As the Lord looks at us, His seven eyes transfuse Himself into us. Whenever the Lord looks at us with His eyes, we can understand if He is happy or unhappy. There is no need for Him to say anything. By looking at us, He transfuses all that He is into our being. His seven eyes are gazing at us to infuse God into us. (Conclusion of the New Testament, Message 416)

A beautiful hymn that I remembered last night before falling asleep, I remember singing this in our church in the 90's and when you listen to how profound the words are, "looking full into His face" and all the things of the earth will slowly disappear, and all I see id Jesus, and all I want to do is pray and speak to Him constantly. My mother used to love this as well, and I remember her facial expressions singing this song.

Unfortunately the churches I have attended do not sing such beautiful hymns anymore.

God bless to everyone and never cease praying for all
