But we never can prove The delights of His love, Until all on the altar we lay; For the favor He shows, And the joy He bestows, Are for them who will trust and obey.

Then in fellowship sweet We will sit at His feet, Or we’ll walk by His side in the way; What He says we will do; Where He sends, we will go, Never fear, only trust and obey.

Trust and obey, For there’s no other way To be happy in Jesus, But to trust and obey.
“If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love” John 15:10 ESV
The ‘commandment’ as used in this context is ‘entolé’ (in Greek) and refers to “order, command, law, injunction, precept,” The ‘love’ is ‘agapé’ (in Greek) and refers to “love, goodwill”.
This clearly tells us that when we live by the Lords precepts (instruction/teaching), we remain in His love and goodwill (kindness). I personally believe that although the Lord loves everyone, He has some ‘special attention/kindness” for those who obey Him. Abraham trusted and obeyed God, becoming the friend of God and being blessed abundantly.
May God give us the grace to obey Him, to live by His precepts as His Spirit leads us.
This is the confidence that we have that when we ask anything in His name according to His will, God hears us. God always respond to His word. When we abide in His words and pray to Him, He answer prayers. I believe in prayers, I believe in prayers, I believe in prayers, prayers moves mountains. Praise the Lord!!! Thanks for uploading this song and God bless you all.
Pastor Bottoms would direct the congregation to sing the chorus a few years ago. We've rested, laboring in love, with this mantra... In a dream, this morning, I was singing this same chorus with another before being about the lyrics written. Thank you FATHER for YOUR example, favor, grace, love, mercy (JESUS is all and more). Body of Christ, this is our marching order.
Our family is responsible for the Sabbath programme at church and I was googling the song in preparation for the Sabbath tomorrow. What a nice song, "Trust and Obey."
I woke up with song in my spirit this morning, and I hear God saying we will never know the extent of His love, His favour and the joy He bestows until we learn to walk with Him in complete obedience. To be completely devoted to Him, no matter what!
A man I so deeply respect for His knowledge of God once said, it's not that I have had any unusual revelation but one thing I learn early in my walk with God is to obey Him in small dealings of the day.
Lord, help me to grow more and more in this life of obedience.
