There shall be showers of blessing

Fullness of the Spirit As the Showers

English260
1
There shall be showers of blessing:
This is the promise of love;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
Sent from the Savior above.

Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need;
Mercy-drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.
2
There shall be showers of blessing—
Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys,
Sound of abundance of rain.
3
There shall be showers of blessing;
Send them upon us, O Lord!
Grant to us now a refreshing;
Come, and now honor Thy Word.
4
There shall be showers of blessing;
O that today they might fall,
Now as to God we’re confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call!
5
There shall be showers of blessing,
If we but trust and obey;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
If we let God have His way.

This hymn is very touching and inspiring. As I sang the hymn just after heavy downpour in my area before our very important gathering. I felt that God was releasing His blessings upon us in order to begin the celebration

Again, this hymn is impressed upon my heart my the Holy Ghost. I quickly searched the web to find the full rendition so I could sing to the Lord. I perceive the Lord is about to do something providential

When at the end of the day we have exhausted everything our human body could do... we still say is not enough... But with God by our side we will never be left helpless... always showers us with blessings never matched by worldy pleasures... I hold fast this promise of God... showers of blessings if we trust and obey and let God lead the way.

Ezekiel 34:26 And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing.

27 And the tree of the field shall yield her fruit, and the earth shall yield her increase, and they shall be safe in their land, and shall know that I am the LORD, when I have broken the bands of their yoke, and delivered them out of the hand of those that served themselves of them.

We see little mercy drops around us. But the Lord has promised showers of blessings. We need these for refreshing but we must let God have His way. That is by trusting and obeying Him. The blessings will come!
