Blessed is he that is trusting the Lord,
For the help that he daily needs;
He shall inherit the promised reward,
If he follows where Jesus leads.
For the help that he daily needs;
He shall inherit the promised reward,
If he follows where Jesus leads.
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart,
And in all thy ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct thy paths;
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart,
And in all thy ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct thy paths.
And in all thy ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct thy paths;
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart,
And in all thy ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct thy paths.

Blessed is he that is trusting the Lord,
Who doth follow the heavenly way;
Look to this One; keep your gaze on the Lord,
And your steps will be sure for aye.
Who doth follow the heavenly way;
Look to this One; keep your gaze on the Lord,
And your steps will be sure for aye.

Blessed is he whom the Father will aid,
And the Saviour will e’er befriend;
If Son and Father would with you abide,
All your loneliness then will end.
And the Saviour will e’er befriend;
If Son and Father would with you abide,
All your loneliness then will end.

Blessed is he who will keep in the way
That will upward and onward lead;
On the vast riches of Christ feed each day;
Timely grace you will find indeed.
That will upward and onward lead;
On the vast riches of Christ feed each day;
Timely grace you will find indeed.

This is a comment for the compilers: if you classify this song as “comfort in trials” then you’re saying that one should trust in the Lord in trials. This is true, but there is so much more!!! The entire bible can be summarized in this: “apart from faith/trust/confidence, it is impossible to please God” To those willing to enter, faith becomes THE source of Zoe life, a sustenance more real than air, food or water are for the body, which are just shadows of the true bread anyway, Jesus. It is our hourly supply, the base from which each inherited blessing flows. When I was coming down the Inca trail in Peru, and I was telling Jesus how hard it was because it was pouring rain and my knees were hurting with the heavy backpack the Lord said to me “don’t you know that I watch your every step, that you can just trust me? ” I responded “I thought that verse was metaphorical for my life”. He said “what is written is true in all realms” I said “you mean I don’t have to pay attention to where I put my feet???? ” He said “that’s exactly what I mean, trust me, try me! ” Somehow, the Holy Spirit gave me faith to trust the word spoken, and did I ever enter a heavenly experience!! I paid no mind at all to where I put my feet coming down the mountain, I did not even look!!! I started catching up to the group, passed them, and started catching up to the porters. My kids said “dad, you’re crazy, you’re going to fall! ” I said “no I am doing what the Lord told me. ” Trusting the Lord at that moment was the most exhilarating decision of my life. I was bold and free!!! It was my life source. And it will be forever. “They overcame the devil by the blood of the lamb. ” What does this mean other than trusting in His shed blood? The final battle will be fought by faith and faith only. So do not classify this newly registered song as “comfort in trials”. Do you have a section called “the way of life”? Or something in that vein? That’s where it should be.
