Simply trusting every day

I am waiting on God and trusting him for divine mercy, favour, guidance and performance of great things as he indicated in Luke 1:49 even when l don't know what he has for me. Yet Jeremiah 29:11 assures me of God's good plans for my life. Thank you Jesus

F. Jeremiah’s Trusting Prayer to Jehovah

In 17:12-18 we have Jeremiah’s trusting prayer to Jehovah. Jeremiah began his prayer by saying, “A throne of glory set on high from the beginning / Is the place of our sanctuary. / You are the hope of Israel, O Jehovah; / All who forsake You will be put to shame” (vv. 12-13a). Verse 13b goes on to say that those who turn away from Jehovah will be written in the earth because they forsook Him, the fountain of living waters. Then Jeremiah continues his prayer, saying, “Heal me, O Jehovah, and I will be healed; / Save me and I will be saved, / For You are my praise. / Behold, they say to me, / Where is the word of Jehovah? / Let it come now! / But as for me, I have not hurried away from being a shepherd after You, / And I have not desired a day of disaster. / You know that what came out of my lips / Was before Your face. / Do not become a terror to me; / You are my refuge in an evil day. / Let those who persecute me be put to shame, but as for me, do not let me be put to shame; / Let them be dismayed, but do not let me be dismayed. / Bring upon them an evil day, / And break them with a double destruction” (vv. 14-18). We need to understand this trusting prayer according to God’s economy and dispensing. In order to interpret this prayer correctly, we need to receive God, the speaking and dispensing One, into us.

(4) Awaiting the Mercy of
Our Lord Jesus Christ

Jude 21 speaks of “awaiting the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ. ” It is significant that Jude speaks of mercy and not of grace. Peter emphasizes grace, but Jude emphasizes mercy. In verse 2 of this Epistle Jude says, “Mercy to you and peace and love be multiplied. ” Mercy reaches further than grace does. Mercy is for persons who are in a miserable and pitiful situation and condition. When the prodigal son came to his father in Luke 15 , he was altogether in a miserable and pitiful condition. Whatever the Father did for this pitiful, prodigal son was a mercy to him. While we are praying in the Spirit and keeping ourselves in the love of God, we should await further mercy from the Lord. The word awaiting implies trusting. While we await and look for the mercy of our Lord, we are also trusting in His mercy.

Jude 20 and 21 charge the believers not only to build themselves up in the holy faith but also to live in the Triune God. The entire blessed Trinity is employed and enjoyed by the believers in their praying in the Holy Spirit, keeping themselves in the love of God, and awaiting the mercy of our Lord unto eternal life. In these verses we have the Spirit, God the Father, and the Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. We need to pray in the Holy Spirit, keep ourselves in the love of God, and await the mercy of the Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, in these verses we definitely have the Triune God.

We need to be saved daily from many different things. For instance, a certain brother may be a quick person. As such a person, he always does things in a quick way. This may be good most of the time, but it is not good all of the time. Spiritually speaking, it is not good to act quickly, because when we are too quick in doing things, it indicates that we are doing things by ourselves without trusting in the Lord. Whenever we do things by trusting in the Lord, we will slow down and even stop. For a brother to be saved from his quickness is a matter of daily salvation.
