The long, long night is past, the morning breaks at last;
And hushed the dreadful wail and fury of the blast,
As o’er the golden hills the day advances fast!
    The Comforter has come!
The long, long night is past, the morning breaks at last;
And hushed the dreadful wail and fury of the blast,
As o’er the golden hills the day advances fast!
    The Comforter has come!

Lo, the great King of kings, with healing in His wings,
To every captive soul a full deliv’rance brings;
And through the vacant cells the song of triumph rings:
    The Comforter has come!
Lo, the great King of kings, with healing in His wings,
To every captive soul a full deliv’rance brings;
And through the vacant cells the song of triumph rings:
    The Comforter has come!

O boundless love divine! how shall this tongue of mine
To wond’ring mortals tell the matchless grace divine—
That I, a child of hell, should in His image shine!
    The Comforter has come!
O boundless love divine! how shall this tongue of mine
To wond’ring mortals tell the matchless grace divine—
That I, a child of hell, should in His image shine!
    The Comforter has come!

Beautiful song!

Myrtle Lewis

I found myself singing this song at home a few days ago and it brought back wonderful memories of my parents singing together at home while they were alive. My choir director called me yesterday and ask me to sing tonight at our praise and worship meeting, so here I am refreshing my memory. I cannot now explain the comfort it brings, the joy I find with Jesus no-one else could give. Praise be to God for His precious gifts, Jesus Christ our Savior and The Comforter the Holy Spirit.

Indeed the Comforter has come. Always around when we need Him. Thank You Lord.

Awesome Song. Without the Holy Spirit, we can not preach the Gospel. Lord, please help us in Jesus Name.

I just woke up singing this song over and over and my search led me here. "Oh spread the tidings 'round, wherever man is found". There is nothing like the joy and comfort that the Holy Spirit gives. It's overwhelming!

Wonderful song!

We rendered this hymn today in our ministers conference at Redemption

Camp in Nigeria. The Comforter is indeed with us. As we enter the week of the convection tagged 'The Holy Spirit', may His presence fill our life like never before. The song is powerful. Thanks for uploading this song. Maranatha.

Thank God for the Holy Spirit. My prayer is that we will all go out and preach the Gospel. We will bring others to Christ in Jesus name. Thanks for uploading this song and God bless.

For many years I have come to love this classic hymn, and I cannot express enough how much this song has affected my life over the years. This hymn along with Constantly Abiding are among my all time favorite. The lyrics had to be divinely inspired. Glory to God!

This song is powerful. I have no better words to describe the magnitude of this song. The Comforter has come each day. When the Comforter is here the status changes from death to life. Hallelujah!
