What have I to dread, what have I to fear,
  Leaning on the Everlasting Arms!
I have peace complete with my Lord so near,
  Leaning on the Everlasting Arms!
What have I to dread, what have I to fear,
  Leaning on the Everlasting Arms!
I have peace complete with my Lord so near,
  Leaning on the Everlasting Arms!

I never once sang this song when I was in the world. Think of it. We're seated in heavenly places in Christ. Leaning on the everlasting arms.

While doing our family devotions this evening of 16th June 2020 this hymn made a different meaning that in the arms of Jesus we are safe, no other place is sure. There we are safe and secure from all alarms!!

Walking on my trail during the age of Corona virus, I sing the chorus of this beautiful hymn as a joyful reminder that we have a competent leader in Christ Jesus to handle this horrible pandemic of 2019-2920.

As I awake this morning, Leaning on the everlasting arms. Singing down in my Soul!

Thank you Jesus.

While this hymn emphasizes leaning on the divine arms of Christ, there was also a loving seeker who “leaned upon Jesus’ bosom” (John 13:23). Our experience of leaning upon our Beloved Christ, on some days emphasize His hands of security, yet on other days, His shoulders of strength, or His bosom of love and comfort. We lean upon His lovely Person as the only One who is dependable, in whom all the fullness dwells. “Leaning on her Beloved” – S. of S. 8:5.

The eternal God is your refuge,

And underneath are the everlasting arms.

He thrusts out your enemies before you;

It is he who cries, ‘Destroy them! ’

Deuteronomy 33:27

Reading “Be Anxious for Nothing” by Joyce Meyer and she spoke of this beloved hymn in her book. “What have I to dread, what have I to fear leaning on the Everlasting Arms! ”

What have I to dread, what have I to fear. What blessed assurance, true to the word when we are leaning on Him we have nothing to fear. This because nothing can happen against His will. I will lean on Him forever.
