To God be the glory, great things He hath done, So loved He the world that He gave us His Son, Who yielded His life our redemption to win, And opened the life-gate that all may go in.
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Let the earth hear His voice; Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Let the people rejoice; Oh, come to the Father, through Jesus the Son, And give Him the glory; great things He hath done.
2
Oh, perfect redemption, the purchase of blood, To every believer the promise of God; The vilest offender who truly believes, That moment from Jesus a pardon receives.
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Let the earth hear His voice; Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Let the people rejoice; Oh, come to the Father, through Jesus the Son, And give Him the glory; great things He hath done.
3
Great things He hath taught us, great things He hath done, And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son; But purer, and higher, and greater will be Our wonder, our transport when Jesus we see.
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Let the earth hear His voice; Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Let the people rejoice; Oh, come to the Father, through Jesus the Son, And give Him the glory; great things He hath done.
Let the Lord be praised for all the good things He has done. O LORD how wonderful and satisfying this is. Let's all come to the Father and enjoy His almighty greatness. What a blessing we have. PRAISE THE LORD. Let us all rejoice. AMEN.

There is such power and anointing as you sing this song. The presence of Jesus descends in such a beautiful way that you feel Him so near. The things of this earthly life fade away as you take in the reality of what Jesus has done for every human on this planet. Oh that the reality of the love and freedom that can be experienced in our Saviour Jesus can be shared more and more before He returns to Earth in the second coming.

I said these words aloud in a prayer, "To God be the glory" as a finish line. Then I got curious if it was a motto or flag, and was thrilled it is a simple piano melody. Perfect end to this day in my little home.

This song reminds me of my childhood days, we used to sing it a lot. I love this song with a Passion anytime I hear it. There is a kind of feeling I can't really explain. I love this song.

I had never heard the hymn before, but I love it. I'm working on a CD only of hymns, and I may add this one to it, with a revision here or there. It's beautiful.

It says it all. To God be the glory for saving a sinner like me.
Third, we may classify the hymns by the sentiment expressed in the hymns. This is the deepest and most important matter in choosing a hymn. The sentiment of a hymn is the tender feeling of that hymn. The more tender a hymn is, the deeper is its sentiment. Two hymns may have the same subject and be under the same subdivision, but there may be a difference between them in sentiment. For example, Hymns, #39 and #52 are both hymns on the worship of the Father, but they have very different sentiments. Hymns, #39 is a good hymn that is full of excitement. Singing this hymn may make us want to shout. In contrast, Hymns, #52 is a very tender and fine hymn, perhaps the most tender and fine hymn in the section on the worship of the Father. If we study and pray over this hymn, we will sense how deep and tender its feeling is.
