To God be the glory, great things He hath done,
So loved He the world that He gave us His Son,
Who yielded His life our redemption to win,
And opened the life-gate that all may go in.

Oh, perfect redemption, the purchase of blood,
To every believer the promise of God;
The vilest offender who truly believes,
That moment from Jesus a pardon receives.
Oh, perfect redemption, the purchase of blood,
To every believer the promise of God;
The vilest offender who truly believes,
That moment from Jesus a pardon receives.

Great things He hath taught us, great things He hath done,
And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son;
But purer, and higher, and greater will be
Our wonder, our transport when Jesus we see.
Great things He hath taught us, great things He hath done,
And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son;
But purer, and higher, and greater will be
Our wonder, our transport when Jesus we see.

HOLY, HOLY, HOLY LORD GOD ALMIGHTY!!! Was with my wife and young son at camp meeting in early 1980s and songs with personal testimonies. We both were Baptized at Indian Lake while our son played as children should I remembered singing this Hymnal with about 50 others loud and with tambourines my soul sees and hears it now as if it were yesterday. Love one another as JESUS LOVES US.

I was given this hymnal in the dream couldn't find it in my A&M so I googled it out and you did a good job with the tune n keyboard God bless you.... But the 1st stanza has a Discrepancy " who yielded His life as atonement for sin" not "'Our redemption to win"

Thanks and God bless you

I remember with fondness how my father in law, Eddie Johnson, who died last year aged 95 years old in Cape Town, used to sing this hymn. I thank our Lord that he cared so much for his family and his friends. May he rest in peace.

Thank you for taking the time to put this song online.

It comes very handy to sing praises unto the Lord whenever the song flashes through my mind.

We cannot but give God all the glory.

He is the reason why we are still alive.

Just finish praying and as I finish praying , I immediately heard this song in my spirit and I stared singing it. To God be the Glory in this time of thanks giving for all the Lord our Saviour has done. Even for the very breath that we have to call upon His Name

God bless everyone who hears this sung.

Thank you so much for the lyrics and sounds. I am having my mother not doing well as she is a cancer patient but as I finished praying for her tonight, I felt this song in my heart to just say praise the Lord, he has done great things for us despite the challenges I am and the whole world is going through.

Jesus Christ the same yesterday today and forever. A life without JESUS CHRIST is an EMPTY LIFE.

Third, we may classify the hymns by the sentiment expressed in the hymns. This is the deepest and most important matter in choosing a hymn. The sentiment of a hymn is the tender feeling of that hymn. The more tender a hymn is, the deeper is its sentiment. Two hymns may have the same subject and be under the same subdivision, but there may be a difference between them in sentiment. For example, Hymns, #39 and #52 are both hymns on the worship of the Father, but they have very different sentiments. Hymns, #39 is a good hymn that is full of excitement. Singing this hymn may make us want to shout. In contrast, Hymns, #52 is a very tender and fine hymn, perhaps the most tender and fine hymn in the section on the worship of the Father. If we study and pray over this hymn, we will sense how deep and tender its feeling is.
