Thou my everlasting Portion

This hymn reminds me of our helplessness and total dependence on our Maker. We are strangers and pilgrims in this world (1 Pet 2:11). To make it Home, we need a close walk with our Maker. We need to walk with Him like this hymn says.

This is a daily song for pilgrims. I have always been blessed and strengthened why I sing this hymn written by holy men of God. It was not written to make money or for entertainment but an expression of their lives and focus on the cross of Christ. This songs are timeless because they were lifted by the Holy Spirit from a regenerated life. Oh may I continue to come close to thee till I see You face to face.

I couldn't understand as a child, growing up when my Mom used to cry, and SING this SONG. I thought She was Crazy; Now that my grown, and FACING MY OWN TRIALS and TRIBULATION, THIS IS THE SONG THAT SOOTHES AND COMFORTS ME ON A DAILY BASIS. MY GOD BLESS THE WRITER. TRULY BLESSES MY SOUL.
