It is safely moored, ’twill the storm withstand, For ’tis well secured by the Savior’s hand; And the cables passed from His heart to mine, Can defy the blast, through strength divine.

It will firmly hold in the straits of fear, When the breakers have told the reef is near; Though the tempest rave and the wild winds blow, Not an angry wave shall our bark o’erflow.

It will surely hold in the floods of death, When the waters cold chill our latest breath; On the rising tide it can never fail, While our hopes abide within the veil.

This song has always being a source of strength and inspiration to me over the years. I learnt it from my Methodist hymnal in church. Over the past few days I find the lyrics keep resounding in my spirit day and night. It's as if am being prepared for something by Him, Jesus, who is that anchor who keeps my soul.
Please help me pray that my anchor holds through every storm , and I for you . 🙏
This is so great really to have our Boys and Girls brigade anthem, we are really proud to be brigaders of our Lord Jesus Christ ever. Lets serve the living God will great deligence as we need favor from Him.
This is not just a song, ask yourself this sincere question. Will your anchor hold?
Because while on this journey, if God help us to live long enough, that moment when this question will come staring at you in the face begging for answer will definitely come.
I learnt this song from middle school and sang it all the way thru high school. I would say when I sung it back in the day, I didn’t really reflect on the lyrics but as I got older, I realize how motivational these simple words could be during the many adversities life throws at us.
This song had always been an inspiration to me since the sixties. When am down and have no one to give me words of uplifting I just sing it over and over
I learnt this song back then in secondary school (Mayflower School, Ikenne, Ogun State) co-owned by Californian Madam Sheila Solarin and Nigerian Tai Solarin. The most prestigious high in Nigeria.
