I stand amazed in the presence

Assurance and Joy of Salvation Loved by the Lord

English290
1
I stand amazed in the presence
Of Jesus the Nazarene,
And wonder how He could love me,
A sinner condemned, unclean.

How marvelous! How wonderful!
And my song shall ever be:
How marvelous! How wonderful!
Is my Savior’s love for me!
2
For me it was in the garden,
He prayed: “Not my will, but Thine.”
He had no tears for His own griefs,
But sweat-drops of blood for mine.
3
In pity angels beheld Him,
And came from the world of light
To strengthen Him in the sorrows
He bore for my soul that night.
4
He took my sins and my sorrows,
He made them His very own;
He bore the burden to Calv’ry,
And suffered, and died alone.
5
When with the ransomed in glory
His face I at last shall see,
’Twill be my joy through the ages
To sing of His love for me.

I stand amazed in the presence of Jesus the Nazarene, and wonder how he could love me a sinner condemned, unclean. This verse always has me thinking what a God; who gave up his life for the entire universe. It has to be a Supernatural Being. One who is Holy, Infinite, and is from ancient past. There is non like Him, there was non before Him, and there will be non after Him. He is the Almighty and All Powerful God. , YHWH.

This song rose up in my heart and l sang the words l remembered from long ago. I looked up the verses that l could remember and was blessed to read all the other testimonies.

Worshipping the Lord through almost eight decades of psalms, hymns and spiritual songs is wonderful, but when my soul is weary or broken by life’s painfully shadowed trials, it is the old hymns that rise up out of my spirit and lead me to His loving presence. How marvelous… oh, how wonderful!

This song highlights the depth of the Savior’s love for me in interceding for me to secure our salvation and saving us from sin and shame.

Greater love had no man than this

Glorious hymn. I was reading on the themes of Christ's ministry in the Heavenly Sanctuary and this hymn came to mind when I read a line, "The Most Holy place was exposed when Jesus died. After the death of Jesus no curtain can come between a holy God and a sincere believer; Jesus, our High Priest, ushers us into the very presence of God. (Hebrews 10:19-22)" And thus verse 4

He took my sins and my sorrows,
He made them His very own;
He bore the burden to Calv’ry,
And suffered, and died alone

This hymn quietly ensued in my heart since 28th June and this Monday morning, 29th June, I decided to check it out to sing and meditate on it more deeply . since no song or hymn could displace it for this hours in my heart.....

Standing amazed just in His presence.... how marvelous, how wonderful is my Saviours love to me...

Until our eyes open to the depth and height of His love to us, pouring our lives as a drink offering for Him remains. an uphill task...

More love for you JESUS🙏😭🙏

Yesterday morning the preacher asked "What do you love most? ' From youth my commitment to the Lord has remained solid. I love growing in the Lord, studying His Word, serving people (especially my graduate students), growing in knowledge and understanding As a 70 yr old missionary and scientist. But I realized that loving Jesus Himself has not been my first love. This hymn inspired and challenged me in that direction.

And here it is June 2026, and it’s been more than a decade, or even more than two, since I sang this song. And as I was contemplating the depth of God’s love, this song popped back into my memory and I had to come find it online. The songs of our faith are like a torrent, a river that floods our soul and brings comfort and joy and peace. The words are never far away.

While reading Psalm 32 and the words, “Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered…”, my heart began to sing this beautiful old hymn, and I was blessed by the faith of a saint who walked this earth long ago. So very thankful that because of Christ Jesus, faith lives on and blesses others even when we have passed into His presence. Such is the wonderful, marvelous love of Christ!

I have found resplendant joy in reading many of the comments on top of the heartfelt joy of reading (and singing) the lyrics to myself and my God on this quiet morning as I sit by the window, listening to God’s world and thanking him for small signs of positive change he has shown me throughout the night-signs of the beginnings of hope and restoration after a year and a half of living in the shadow of the valley of death. Praise God from Whom ALL blessings flow. Thank you, Mr Gabriel, for giving up your time to learn and write for so so many future generations of seekers and searchers and needy souls like me. And thank you, Jesus, for dying on the cross and surrendering all for my salvation from sin and from myself.
