Some day the silver cord will break

This hymn, I so much love it. It carries a consoling message of hope to me a Christ's believer. What and how that moment will be when I shall see Him face to face.

This hymn brings back many childhood memories of my mother singing it often. There was a time when Mom was a frequent soloist in our church and upon the death of a longtime member, our phone would ring with our minister on the line asking to speak to Mother. The request?? A member in the church of the family who had lost a loved one wished to have Mom sing at the funeral. The song? "Some day the silver cord will break…" Sad, but loving memories.

I heard this hymn in 2020, in a hymn album, I couldn't rest since then, I hum it every moment, even in my dreams. I'm so glad I've found it today.

Don’t know where I heard this song but I got up early this Morning humming this song away so I had to search for it. This is a beautiful song and the words are so profound more so the refrain

The first time I heard this song, I was overwhelmed with joy, I envisaged a new version of to be sung in heaven to ursher the saints to heaven at last. Oo what a glory shall it be?

I love the rapture, the hope of the believer n the sanctified church of God

Truly some of these hymns prepare your heart as a believer ready to meet the Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. God bless the author and his generation.

I loved this song since childhood, when things turn upside down it always remind me that I'm only a pass by in this world. That my Lord and Savior awaits me.

Fanny believed in the rapture of the church. She is still encouraging us today to watch and stay ready as Matthew 25 parable of the 10 virgins. That is the Scripture that goes along with keeping your lamp all trimmed and burning. This is the Scripture for meeting Jesus in the air-

And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died. We tell you this directly from the Lord: We who are still living when the Lord returns will not meet him ahead of those who have died. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever. So encourage each other with these words.

The amazing thing is that Fanny has been in heaven since 1915, and she is going to be receiving her spiritual body along with the rest of the Saints.
