1
Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine;
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.
2
Perfect submission, perfect delight,
Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
Angels descending, bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.
3
Perfect submission, all is at rest,
I in my Savior am happy and blest;
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.

Whenever I sing this hymn, it stirs up within me to have a deeper experience of the Lord to match what the chorus says "this is my story, this is my song". We can't live with second hand experience. We need to have subjective experiences of the Lord!

we have the Lord Jesus, who learned obedience though the things He suffered, living in our spirit. He gave us His life of obedience and submission. when we are filled with Christ, we are filled with His life of obedience and submission. when we are willing to submit to this One, we receive the supply proceeding out from the throne. The issue is that we will enjoy perfect delight and rest. When we are willing to stop our own struggle and just abide in our Savior, we are happy and blest.

"Jesus is mine" - oh how I love this utterance! To those who believe into His name, He is ours! What an assurance! This is our story!

This was my lullaby from my mom when I was little. I remember her singing it to me. I lost her 5 years ago on September 2nd.

It is not by chance or accident that this hymn "came to mind" for many of us. It was the same for me this morning during my devotionals.
Scripture is full of reminders that God's Presence is with those who believe and place their faith in His Son Jesus. His Presence in our lives assures us of His great redeeming love for us, whether we are celebrating life, reminiscing the past, enduring suffering, battling lonliness, or experiencing any other emotion or circumstance. We have assurance of His saving Presence now and in the future. What joy it brings when we focus our heats on the grace-filled assurance that we have in Him!
"May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word." (2 Thessalonians 2:16_17)
Singing this while I'm on fasting. Such a power song.

I was humming this hymn while at work. I thought it was called blessed assurance. We sing at church a lot but since COVID I haven’t gone to church as much as I like. Singing at work was last week. Tonight I get a sign of an answer to prayer. Whichever way it turns out, I know Jesus is always with me even at work.

This hymn brings me tears every time I sing or hum it. I recall were I was raised in a remote hamlet, where my father used to sing this every morning and and night before he prays. Its always a wonderful hymn that never gets old.
Peaceful and easy listening God bless us all
