Down from His glory,
Ever living story,
My God and Savior came,
And Jesus was His name.
Born in a manger,
To His own a stranger,
A Man of sorrows, tears and agony.

What condescension,
Bringing us redemption;
That in the dead of night,
Not one faint hope in sight,
God, gracious, tender,
Laid aside His splendor,
Stooping to woo, to win, to save my soul.
Bringing us redemption;
That in the dead of night,
Not one faint hope in sight,
God, gracious, tender,
Laid aside His splendor,

Without reluctance,
Flesh and blood His substance
He took the form of man,
Revealed the hidden plan.
O glorious myst’ry,
Sacrifice of Calv’ry,
And now I know Thou art the great “I AM.”
Flesh and blood His substance
He took the form of man,
Revealed the hidden plan.
O glorious myst’ry,
Sacrifice of Calv’ry,
And now I know Thou art the great “I AM.”
Without reluctance,

When I listen to this hyms, I desire to be with the Lord. I long to be with Him just to be in His presence. Father I thank for sacrificing Your only Son Just for me a sinner.
What an amazing giver of life.

Although, my outward environment is currently consuming my outward man, I'm so, so refreshed by this song. All my situations go away when I consider how the Great Creator stepped out of glory to suffer in order to save us and bring us into His Glory.

This song really touched my heart.
Thank God for sending Jesus to be my Lord and Saviour. To God be the glory.
Thank you for the lyrics. I have the MP3 on my cell phone sung by Charles Billingsley--a magnificent recording. A few of the words I could not make out. With your help I can now enjoy it to the fullest!

This song has blessed many Christ followers. It tells the story of the Lord Jesus in a precise and effective way. It does it to the tune of a lovely Italian song O Sole Mio. If you haven't heard it, you need to do so. God bless it's message which is the gospel of Jesus the only Savior of mankind. Amen
