He Hideth My Soul

1
A wonderful Savior is Jesus my Lord,
  A wonderful Savior to me;
He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock,
  Where rivers of pleasure I see.

He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock
  That shadows a dry, thirsty land;
He hideth my life in the depths of His love,
  And covers me there with His hand,
    And covers me there with His hand.
2
A wonderful Savior is Jesus my Lord,
  He taketh my burden away;
He holdeth me up and I shall not be moved,
  He giveth me strength as my day.
3
With numberless blessings each moment He crowns,
  And, filled with His fulness divine,
I sing in my rapture, oh, glory to God,
  For such a Redeemer as mine!
4
When clothed in His brightness, transported I rise
  To meet Him in clouds of the sky,
His perfect salvation, His wonderful love,
  I’ll shout with the millions on high.

A wonderful Saviour is Jesus Christ indeed. He hideth my life in the depths of His love and covers me there with His love. This became my song when I was told that at the age of 24, I wasn't going to conceive again because there was water in my pelvis. Can you imagine how it got there? The devil is a liar. I went to see my pastor (Pastor Paul Adogamhe) and told him what I've encountered, he asked me a simple question: "whose report do you believe, is it God's or man's report?" I was challenged and it made me to focus on the Lord who is Jesus Christ. He prayed for me and after a month I missed my period and decided to have a pregnant test. It was confirmed that I was pregnant, I was overjoyed and I knew that the dry and thirsty land have been overshadowed. Three months down the line my inlaws visited me and decided to visit a white garment prophet. I told them to go and see my pastor but they refused and insisted that I should go with them to a white garment prophet. When we got there he said to me, "Madam you feel nauseous like a pregnant woman, there is nothing in your womb, I want to give you holy water so that you will clean your womb after that you will conceive..."

This morning while I was on my way to office I sang this song all the way. It is a song of consolation, confidence and assurance as believers. Christ is a wonderful Savior in all ramifications. I will ever live to sing this timely song till I see Him face to face. Thanks a million to Fanny Jane Crosby, A woman of faith.

Simple yet profound, with a melody that matches the words beautifully. My soul is touched and refreshed. I'm reminded that I have a safe place, a place of peace and joy, in the cleft of the rock. I can pray with the psalmist 'lead me to the rock that is higher than I' [Psalm 61]. I feel God's peace and presence soothe away my anxieties. I'm reminded again that God loves me, yes me! I know that not only does God offer salvation and protection, He offers joy, pleasure, peace and security. Thank You my precious Jesus, my wonderful Saviour, for all the good things You have done, are doing and wil do for us. Amen.

Simply no words; a groaning which yearns for the Saviour.

God almighty, You are wonderful. Every time during the end of the year, someone I love hurt me so badly, but Lord, You are there, You've been so good to me, really You are the wonderful Saviour.

I am deeply and prayerfully touched by this hymn! [The cleft of the rock signifies the cross. Christ was the cleft rock smitten for us (Exo. 17:6; 1 Cor. 10:4). Hence, the cleft of the rock signifies His crucifixion, and His crucifixion is just our cross. We must remain in the cleft of the rock; we must stay in His crucifixion. The Apostle Paul was always experiencing the death of Christ. He said, "I am crucified with Christ" (Gal. 2:20). He also shared that he was "always bearing about in the body the putting to death of Jesus,...For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus' sake...So then death worketh in us..." (2 Cor. 4:10-12). This is what it means to be the dove in the cleft of the rock. Only a long period of time in this experience can bring us to the next stage. (Life and Building as Portrayed in the Song of Songs, Chapter 5, Section 3)] O Lord Jesus, always keep me in 'the cleft of the rock,'! Amen! via http://www.ministrybooks.org/

Lord Jesus, What a wonderful Savior You are! In the cleft of the rock, there is a river of pleasure where we can enjoy and we find satisfaction in midst of dry and thirsty land! In the cleft of the rock, we are safe in the depth of Your love and cover us by Your hand! Lord Jesus, Only in the crucified Christ, You take all our burden; You hold us and not be moved and You are our strength! Hallelujah!

Simple, yet profound. I can 'feel' the caress of the Good Shepherd, my Savior. The gentleness of our loving God is on display in this hymn.

I can sing this song everyday of my life. It draws me to the cross and the feel of Psalms 23. I feel HIS PRESENCE everywhere. So encouraging in tough times. He is truly amazing, MIGTHY MAN OF BATTLES, HE lifts the burdens and gives strength to move on. Nothing too big for HIM.
