Encamped along the hills of light, Ye Christian soldiers rise, And press the battle ere the night Shall veil the glowing skies; Against the foe in vales below Let all our strength be hurled; Faith is the victory, we know, That overcomes the world.

His banner over us is love, Our sword the Word of God; We tread the road the saints before With shouts of triumph trod. By faith, they like a whirlwind’s breath, Swept on o’er every field; The faith by which they conquered death Is still our shining shield.

On every hand the foe we find Drawn up in dread array; Let tents of ease be left behind, And onward to the fray. Salvation’s helmet on each head, With truth all girt about, The earth shall tremble ’neath our tread, And echo with our shout.

To him that overcomes the foe, White raiment shall be giv’n; Before the angels he shall know His name confessed in heav’n; Then onward from the hills of light, Our hearts with love aflame, We’ll vanquish all the hosts of night, In Jesus’ conqu’ring name.

The People of God walk by faith, not by sight! No matter how dark the night, how rough the road, how high the mountain or how steep the valley, our step is sure and firm!
Our Lord has gone this way before and we are walking by faith in His great name!
Hallelujah, Christ has overcome the enemy! Praise the Lord! The name of Jesus is above every name! Every knee shall bow and every tongue will openly confess that Jesus is Lord! Faith is victory! Christ is Victor! 😀
This song came to mind during Bible study last night. Our teacher was sharing about faith. One point was about having a faith that overcomes even during the trials and difficulties that come. Because of All Jesus did for us, we Can Overcome! We CAN Trust Him Through the Challenges that We May face in this life! Until He returns, God bless you!!
My beloved father, a powerful presbyterian church chapel's preacher, in the lastt years of his ministry used to sing this hymn AT the end of each sunday mass. OH ! How I loved to know the English lyrics thet were translated in Bafia language by my Uncle. A presbyterian church pastor. Who also passed away. Before coming a cross this lyrics I repeated all thé night that thé only thing my country needs AT this very moment of his History IS FAITH. BECAUSE FAITH IS VICTORY. GLORY BE TO GOD!!!
Meditating on 1John 5:4, God brought this precious hymn into my mind, which I had not recalled for many years. My faith in Him-- I am enabled by Him to overcome this world. Hallelujah!
Faith is actually what is needed to be victorious! Actually, according to the Holy Bible in the book of James, faith and works go hand in hand. Hence, whereas we have faith in God and down deep within our hearts we may know this, we should not sit back on that. Instead, we get up use the faith inside as motivation, then move forward to do what needs to be done . That the Lord honours!
