Out of my shameful failure and loss,
Jesus, I come! Jesus, I come!
Into the glorious gain of Thy cross,
    Jesus, I come to Thee!
Out of earth’s sorrows into Thy balm,
Out of life’s storm and into Thy calm,
Out of distress to jubilant psalm,
    Jesus, I come to Thee!
Out of my shameful failure and loss,
Jesus, I come! Jesus, I come!
Into the glorious gain of Thy cross,
    Jesus, I come to Thee!
Out of earth’s sorrows into Thy balm,
Out of life’s storm and into Thy calm,
Out of distress to jubilant psalm,
    Jesus, I come to Thee!

Out of unrest and arrogant pride,
Jesus, I come! Jesus, I come!
Into Thy blessed will to abide,
    Jesus, I come to Thee!
Out of myself to dwell in Thy love,
Out of despair into raptures above,
Upward for aye on wings like a dove,
    Jesus, I come to Thee!
Out of unrest and arrogant pride,
Jesus, I come! Jesus, I come!
Into Thy blessed will to abide,
    Jesus, I come to Thee!
Out of myself to dwell in Thy love,
Out of despair into raptures above,
Upward for aye on wings like a dove,
    Jesus, I come to Thee!

Out of the fear and dread of the tomb,
Jesus, I come! Jesus, I come!
Into the joy and pleasure, Thine own,
    Jesus, I come to Thee!
Out of the depths of ruin untold,
Into the flock Thy love doth enfold,
Ever Thy glorious face to behold,
    Jesus, I come to Thee!
Out of the fear and dread of the tomb,
Jesus, I come! Jesus, I come!
Into the joy and pleasure, Thine own,
    Jesus, I come to Thee!
Out of the depths of ruin untold,
Into the flock Thy love doth enfold,
Ever Thy glorious face to behold,
    Jesus, I come to Thee!

Does anyone remember this song from the old tent revival meetings? Sung over and over as people went forward to give their life to the Lord.

A lovely hymn I also remember from my childhood. Great to find all the words & discover I’d been singing and playing it mostly right!

I used to sing this hymn as a child in church. I’m so thrilled to have rediscovered it today thanks to this website. The words are like a sweet balm and comfort and reassurance to my soul. “Jesus I come to thee. ” I love reading all the comments from all over the world. God bless you all and heal us. Be so close to us Lord.

"Jesus I come to thee"

With whatever situation in we go through, we can come to Him, our Lord Jesus who loves and comforts us.

Blessed by this song.!

I knew nothing about this Great Hymn, until The Holy Spirit Divinely Revealed it to me, way back in February, 2013, when I was in a very deep sea of affliction.

A lovely Lady thought me this hymn in a dream and I am so thankful to GOD that I remembered the first three lines when I woke up.

So I had to search it out and it has been a Tremendous Blessing to my Life.

It is a Great Proof of the fact that GOD is Always With Us and HE is Even Closer to Us than we can ever imagine.

HALLELUJAH to The KING of Kings and The LORD of Lords!!!!!!!

Both the lyrics and melody of this hymn are so soothing to the mind, body, soul and spirit. What a treasure we have in old-time hymns.

Stanza 4 is re-translated:

4. Out of the might of death of the foe,

Jesus, I come! Jesus, I come!

Into the life that Christ does bestow,

Jesus, I come to Thee!

Out of the hopeless, endless abyss,

Into the home of refuge and bliss,

E'er to behold Thy face, glorious;

Jesus, I come to Thee!
