This is such song is such a spirit filled song of our Lord Jesus Precious blood that was spilled to to save our souls from hell. Oh the sweet Precious this song cling to my heart strings and plays a song of God's Peace and fulfillment of my soul. I grew up in the Church singing all the wonderful, heart-stirring hymns ( or so I thought ). If we did sing this hymn, it wasn't etched in my memory like the others. A year ago, or so, I was going through an old hymnal and came across this magnificent song. It is now my favorite hymn, and "Redeeming love has been my theme, And shall be till I die".

How wonderful is the power of His Blood that purchased believing mankind from the marketplace of sin forever , no act of mankind can earn us this privilege other than " to believe " to trust in , rely on and be confident in Our Saviour and His Precious Blood ..... Hallelujah what a Saviour.

This powerful hymn has been a blessing to the body of Christ. In a vision in Ezekiel 47, the prophet saw a river flowing from the threshold of the Temple. In verse 9, it says, "where the river flows everything will live". So it is with the crimson flood flowing from Immanuel's vein: anyone who takes a plunge in it will live!
