Stand up! stand up for Jesus

Spiritual Warfare Standing Up

English870
1
Stand up! stand up for Jesus!
Ye soldiers of the cross;
Lift high His royal banner,
It must not suffer loss:
From vict’ry unto vict’ry
His army shall He lead,
Till every foe is vanquished
And Christ is Lord indeed.

Stand up for Jesus
Ye soldiers of the cross;
Lift high His royal banner,
It must not, it must not suffer loss.
2
Stand up! stand up for Jesus!
The trumpet call obey;
Forth to the mighty conflict
In this His glorious day.
Ye that are men, now serve Him
Against unnumbered foes;
Let courage rise with danger.
And strength to strength oppose.
3
Stand up! stand up for Jesus!
Stand in His strength alone;
The arm of flesh will fail you;
Ye dare not trust your own.
Put on the Gospel armor,
And, watching unto prayer,
Where duty calls, or danger,
Be never wanting there.
4
Stand up! stand up for Jesus!
The strife will not be long:
This day the noise of battle,
The next the victor’s song;
To him that overcometh
A crown of life shall be;
He, with the King of glory,
Shall reign eternally.

My best song ever. One of the best we sang all the time while in college in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Sing this song now anytime I pick up my phone to praise my Creator, the Lord.

I have woken up at 3:00am to pray and I could just hear this hymn singing in my spirit soul and mind.

I had to Google it. I have sang it twice and read it line by line.

The message I have got is that we are soldiers in battle but our victory is sure in the LORD our God.

Was so blessed with the song. Made me revisit my Christian walk knowing, it’s a battle that was won so I can go from victory to victory because He’s the captain.

The Lord is looking and longing for those who would live an overcoming life, and thus be a testimony to Him both individually and corporately.
