He leadeth me! O blessed thought

Experience of Christ Following Him

English585
1
He leadeth me! O blessed thought,
O words with heav’nly comfort fraught;
Whate’er I do, where’er I be,
Still ’tis Christ’s hand that leadeth me.

He leadeth me! He leadeth me!
By His own hand He leadeth me;
His faithful follower I would be,
For by His hand He leadeth me.
2
Sometimes ’mid scenes of deepest gloom,
Sometimes where Eden’s bowers bloom,
By waters still, o’er troubled sea,
Still ’tis His hand that leadeth me.
3
Lord, I would clasp Thy hand in mine,
Nor ever murmur or repine;
Content, whatever lot I see,
Since it is Thou that leadest me.
4
And when my task on earth is done,
When, by Thy grace, the vict’ry’s won,
E’en death’s cold wave I will not flee,
Since Thou in triumph leadest me.

Un Hermano

When we have the vision, we see what God is doing. When we have the life, the overcoming life, we can praise and have the confidence to overcome. But there is still another aspect; God has to deal with us. If we know the God of Isaac, we will have the confidence to say, “But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in the Christ” (2 Cor. 2:14). “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? ” (Rom. 8:35). However, we still need to know the God of Jacob. God’s dealings with Jacob tell us that it is still possible for us to fail. We cannot guarantee our trustworthiness. If the Lord does not protect us, we can become weak and fallen at any time. In Isaac we know Christ. In Jacob we know ourselves. Because we know Christ, we have confidence, and because we know ourselves, we lose our own confidence. When these two combine together, we will fully live Christ.

This song just dropped in my spirit as a confirmation that what I thought impossible is possible and it's never through a man's hand but by the hand of God. Yes, by the time he's done with it, I'll become a mighty Nation.

He leads us from heavy darkness and pain, into his marvelous light. I sing this song when I feel weighed down and God is not a man, neither is He a liar, I find real peace in Him. Amen 🙏

I had a a little inspiration from this hymn. See the verses below adapted from this hymn sung to the same tune.

Oh nourish me, yes nourish me.
This is my prayer each and
every day.

Though often I have slighteth thee, still through your word you

feedeth me.

Chorus
He feedeth me, yes feedeth me,
With His own love, He feedeth
me, Oh words with heavenly
comfort filled. It is Christ’s word
that feedeth me,
Oh wondrous thought to me
you give!
That word you speak,
is Life to me.
It makes me follow every day,
My gratitude I ‘ll forever show.
