Oh, let me feel Thee near me; The world is ever near; I see the sights that dazzle, The tempting sounds I hear; My foes are ever near me, Around me and within; But, Jesus, draw Thou nearer, And shield my soul from sin.
Oh, let me feel Thee near me;
The world is ever near;
I see the sights that dazzle,
The tempting sounds I hear;
My foes are ever near me,
Around me and within;
But, Jesus, draw Thou nearer,
And shield my soul from sin.

Oh, let me hear Thee speaking, In accents clear and still, Above the storms of passion, The murmurs of self-will; Oh, speak to reassure me, To hasten, or control; Oh, speak, and make me listen, Thou Guardian of my soul.
Oh, let me hear Thee speaking,
In accents clear and still,
Above the storms of passion,
The murmurs of self-will;
Oh, speak to reassure me,
To hasten, or control;
Oh, speak, and make me listen,
Thou Guardian of my soul.
DOh,
let me hear Thee

Oh,

control;
Oh,
B7
speak,
and make me
Em
listen,
Thou
D
Guardian
A7
of
my

Oh, let me see Thy footmarks, And in them plant mine own; My hope to follow duly Is in Thy strength alone. Oh, guide me, call me, draw me, Uphold me to the end; And then to rest receive me, My Savior and my Friend.
This song has, is and will always be the cry of my heart to God. He is the reason I live and may my life truly be lived for Him and Him alone. A true living sacrifice of sweet smelling savour, acceptable unto Him.
The verses of this song minister to me wonderfully. It is all I want to say to God to be at my side, to draw me closer to Him, to speak and make me listen, to serve Him till the end and then in heaven receive me, Amen.
When John Bode served the parish at Castle Camps, near Cambridge, England, in the middle of the 19th century, he had the privilege of officiating at the confirmation of his daughter and 2 sons. This hymn was written specifically for this occasion, and originally the 1st line was, "O Jesus, we have promised" because all 3 children were making this dedication of themselves to the Lord. - Great Songs of Faith by Brown & Norton
I love this song with passion. It gives me courage to continue in this life and it makes me to remember the promise I made to God. I will serve Him in all my life time.
I thank God for the inspiration to write such beautiful songs in the ancient days. It has helped we Christians of this generation in our Christian walk with God. Very inspiring indeed. God bless the writer and composer.
After reaching workplace and making a cup of tea, this song came into my mind and I started humming thinking of my good old days at school. Since I forgot the lyrics I seached Internet and here I am with this beautiful word that blesses me. Thanks a lot for whoever put this song on the net for simple page flip. Remember God takes cares of everybody both good and bad. Thank You Almighty God. God Bless everyone. Amen.
