Über die Zahlennotation

Die Zahlennotation (auch Jianpu oder 简谱 genannt) schreibt jede Melodienote als Zahl von 1 bis 7 statt als Note auf einem Notensystem. Die Zahl zeigt die Stellung der Note in der Tonleiter des Liedes -- nicht ihre genaue Tonhöhe --, sodass dieselbe Melodie unabhängig von der gesungenen Tonart gleich aussieht.

Innerhalb einer Oktave entsprechen die Zahlen 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 den bekannten Solmisationssilben Do Re Mi Fa Sol La Ti. Ein Punkt über einer Zahl hebt sie um eine Oktave an; ein Punkt darunter senkt sie um eine Oktave ab -- ohne Punkt bleibt es bei der mittleren, so geschriebenen Oktave.

Eine einzelne Zahl dauert einen Schlag. Ein Bindestrich (-) direkt nach einer Zahl hält dieselbe Note einen weiteren Schlag lang. Ein Strich unter einer Zahl verkürzt sie dagegen -- ein Strich ist ein halber Schlag, zwei Striche ein viertel Schlag. Eine 0 ist eine Pause: ein Schlag Stille.

Die Angabe oben auf dem Notenblatt, zum Beispiel "1=C" oder "1=Ab", zeigt, auf welcher Tonhöhe die Stufe 1 ("Do") liegt. Ein Lied in Moll trägt stattdessen die Angabe "6=X" -- Stufe 6 ("La") ist dann der eigentliche Grundton. Akkordsymbole über den Noten (wie "C" oder "G7") werden immer mit ihren gewohnten Buchstabennamen geschrieben, nie als Zahlen.

Bei der Angabe "1=C" klingen die Zahlen 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 als C D E F G A B. Bei "1=G" klingen dieselben Zahlen dagegen als G A B C D E F# -- gleiche Form, andere Tonart.

Today, this day in the Lord Aug. 26, 2018, I woke up with this hymn within me. It was so so so sweet. Just anticipating meeting with the brothers and sisters of the Lord, the called saints! For the Lord has chosen Zion He has desired it for His habitation! He rests in the Church oh what a joy oh what a peace! Praise Him for He has so desired!!! I love You Lord Jesus!!!

Before I met The Lord in Santa Cruz, California in 1972..... I was so lonely and full of unrest....then one night He came into my heart...He really did! It was a Friday night love feast.... I came because I was hungry .... The young sister who invited me told me to "come because Jesus was there". And He was.

Today 12/8/14. I still sing this song....He is my rest forever and ever, Amen.

I absolutely love this scripture song. Every time I sing it it fills me with such joy and assurance of God's love for Zion and I am immediately filled with hope knowing that my rest comes no other way then through my dear Savior. I am spontaneously lifted from worldly things to my eternal destiny chosen for those that love Him. Truly reason to shout for joy!
