Lamb of God so pure and spotless

Praise of the Lord His Death

English1089
1
Lamb of God so pure and spotless,
Lamb of God for sinners slain.
Thy shed blood has wrought redemption,
Cleansing us from every stain.
Lamb redeeming, Lamb redeeming,
Bearing all our sins away,
Bearing all our sins away!
2
Brazen serpent, to Thee looking,
Son of Man, uplifted high.
Thou didst bear the flesh of sin in
Likeness on the cross to die.
Old creation’s termination;
Finished, Satan and the world,
Finished Satan and the world!
3
Grain of wheat, so small and lowly,
Without death abides alone;
Life divine enclosed within it,
Into death it must be sown.
Life releasing, Christ increasing,
Many grains to birth to bring,
Many grains to birth to bring!
4
Lamb of God—our sin’s redemption,
Brazen serpent—Satan’s end,
Grain of wheat—life’s reproduction,
Now with many grains we blend.
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
What an all-inclusive death,
What an all-inclusive death!

He is the redeeming Lamb of God (1:29, 36) slain for us that we may eat His flesh and drink His blood, taking Him in as our life supply that we may live by Him.

The Bible tells us that Christ died at least a five fold death—a death as the last Adam, as the Lamb of God, as the bronze serpent, as the Peacemaker, and as the grain of wheat. When He was dying on the cross, in the eyes of God, He was at least a five-fold person; a person in at least five aspects.

The Lord Jesus as such a person terminated everything through such a death. That termination means that He accomplished the real baptism as He said, “I have a baptism to be baptized with and how I am pressed with it until it is accomplished! ” (Luke 12:50). He had already been baptized but He still had to go to the cross, signified by the death water used by John the Baptist.

All of us need to grasp this basic point that after His baptism and the Holy Spirit descending upon Him, Jesus became such a being with divinity and with humanity but with a humanity that had been terminated and resurrected. (CWWL)

Another hymn about Jesus, the Lamb of God, is "Look to the Lamb of God." I remember singing it in church when I was a teenager. The words are so simple, but the message is so powerful!

If you from sin are longing to be free,
Look to the Lamb of God.
He to redeem you died on Calvary,
Look to the Lamb of God.

Refrain

Look to the Lamb of God.
Look to the Lamb of God.
For He alone is able to save you,
Look to the Lamb of God.

When Satan tempts and doubts and fears
assail,
Look to the Lamb of God.
You in His strength shall over all prevail,
Look to the Lamb of God.

Are you aweary? Does the way seem long?
Look to the Lamb of God.
His love will cheer and fill your heart
with song.
Look to the Lamb of God.

Fear not when shadows on your pathway fall,
Look to the Lamb of God.
In joy or sorrow, Christ is all in all.
Look to the Lamb of God.

God bless us all as we keeping looking to the Lamb!

I like all the lyrics with the music. It gives me a idea as to which song I am looking for!

Keep up the good job.
