Out of my bondage, sorrow, and night

Gospel Coming to the Lord

English1050
1
Out of my bondage, sorrow, and night,
Jesus, I come! Jesus, I come!
Into Thy freedom, gladness, and light,
Jesus, I come to Thee!
Out of my sickness into Thy health,
Out of my want and into Thy wealth,
Out of my sin and into Thyself,
Jesus, I come to Thee!
2
Out of my shameful failure and loss,
Jesus, I come! Jesus, I come!
Into the glorious gain of Thy cross,
Jesus, I come to Thee!
Out of earth’s sorrows into Thy balm,
Out of life’s storm and into Thy calm,
Out of distress to jubilant psalm,
Jesus, I come to Thee!
3
Out of unrest and arrogant pride,
Jesus, I come! Jesus, I come!
Into Thy blessed will to abide,
Jesus, I come to Thee!
Out of myself to dwell in Thy love,
Out of despair into raptures above,
Upward for aye on wings like a dove,
Jesus, I come to Thee!
4
Out of the fear and dread of the tomb,
Jesus, I come! Jesus, I come!
Into the joy and pleasure, Thine own,
Jesus, I come to Thee!
Out of the depths of ruin untold,
Into the flock Thy love doth enfold,
Ever Thy glorious face to behold,
Jesus, I come to Thee!

I've been running away from Your Divine Call, but now Jesus I come; Out of my wearisome sins, Jesus I come to thee.

I strayed from the Guide, but not I return to the blessed Path; Jesus I come to thee.

Lord Jesus I am super grateful for your death on the cross, the blood you shade for us and the price you to set us free from our sins and bandages into a freedom that is priceless and that can never be negotiated. Thank you so much for dying for us. Your death and the price you paid will never be a waist. Thank you Jesus.

I had this song in my spirit and started singing being the last day of the 21 days fasting and prayers and a covenant day of restoration, it's so overwhelming to know that Christ Jesus has delivered, healed, destroyed the siege according to Psalm 107:20. Today is truly a day of total freedom for me, family and Nation at large. Praise be to God Almighty for double restoration, Amen 🙏🙏

I have loved this hymn since childhood and I'm now elderly. Praise God for this and other wonderful songs of Him and His love. I was also encouraged to read other comments and I want to lift up in prayer those in other countries who I will meet one day in Heaven. Praise you Jesus!

(1) Having Been Freed from the Bondage of the Lawby the Spirit of the Lord

As those who are being transformed, we have been freed from the bondage of the law by the Spirit of the Lord. “The Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom” (2 Cor. 3:17). According to the context of 2 Corinthians 3, this freedom is the freedom from the bondage of the letters of the Old Testament law, that is, the written code of the Old Testament. At Paul’s time the Judaizers and those influenced by them were bound by the traditional code of the law. But the Lord Jesus came to release His followers from this bondage, in particular from the Judaic fold that was formed according to the code of the law in the Old Testament. All those who followed the Lord Jesus were freed from that bondage. Later, the Lord appeared to one of the strongest Judaizers, Saul of Tarsus, called him, and brought him out of the bondage of the law. Therefore, in 2 Corinthians 3:17 Paul could say that we have been freed from this bondage by the Spirit of the Lord.

We know that we are freed by the Spirit because where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. Now the Spirit of the Lord is with us, and we have full liberty, full freedom, from the bondage of the Old Testament code of the law.

We sung this song throughout the whole period of waiting around mum's deathbed as she was gasping for breath and finally went to be with the Lord.

Out of pain and sorrow to freedom and healing she went.

We will sing again around her grave today as we remember her good and blessed life.

Thank God for this hymn; it's always fresh. It's been many years since I last sang it, and I woke up with it strongly in my spirit this morning.
