Working will not save me

Gospel Redemption

English1000
1
Working will not save me;
Purest deeds that I can do,
Holiest thoughts and feelings too,
Cannot form my soul anew;
Working will not save me.

Jesus wept and died for me;
Jesus suffered on the tree;
Jesus waits to make me free,
He alone can save me.
2
Weeping will not save me;
Though my face were bathed in tears,
That could not allay my fears,
Could not wash the sins of years;
Weeping will not save me.
3
Waiting will not save me;
Helpless, guilty, lost I lie,
In my ear is mercy’s cry;
If I wait I can but die:
Waiting will not save me.
4
Praying will not save me;
All the prayers that I could say
Could not wash my sins away,
All I owe could never pay:
Praying will not save me.
5
Faith in Christ will save me;
Let me trust Thy gracious Son,
Trust the work that He has done,
To His arms, Lord, help me run;
Faith in Christ will save me.

This song has always been an inspiration to me right from the time I met Christ and put my trust in Him up till now. The song conveys the truth of the Gospel message. The only hope of salvation left for all mankind is in the finished work of Christ on the cross. I pray for all who had put their trust in Him to remain faithful unto the end.

"He alone," yes, "He alone," yes "He alone"!

This is a revelation, a taking away of the veils of all the things I tried to do to be right with God, and be relieved of the heaviness and emptiness of a life of sin. Thank You, Jesus, for saving me, and that You are still so real to me today as the day when You first brought Yourself and Your love into my life. I never had anything of value to bring to make myself worthy to be saved, but today I am full of thanksgiving, praise, and love for my wonderful Savior Jesus, and His unique

Work!

This song is very, it just touches the heart. Nothing can save us except faith in Christ. It's not about works, or about how much we want something, but about Christ who died on the cross for us and "suffered on the tree".

It is Him who saves us eternally, and the One who saves us everyday. We just need to put our faith in Him, to work in us. Rather "ourselves" working. :) And I like the tune, and it's really simple song, which is why I also like it.
