Arthur S. Booth-Clibborn was the son-in-law of William Booth, the founder of the Salvation Army. He offered his services to the Army in France in 1881. He married Catherine Booth, the eldest daughter of William Booth. He left the Salvation Army in 1902 over a disagreement concerning points of doctrine and constitution. He was an extraordinary evangelist, strongly preaching repentance. He advocated a simple Christ-like life. - Songs of the Spirit by Martin

This Hymn is in the Hymn Book called The Hymns old and new and is in a different tune. Great words and the music fits the hymn Great!!!!!

You can tell the author has real experience of fruitfulness. The tune is not too good. There are a lot of 8.8.8.8.D. tunes. I tried tune 396 "I'm pressing on the upward way" for this, and I like it.
