O Jesus Christ, grow Thou in me

1
O Jesus Christ, grow Thou in me,
  And all things else recede;
My heart be daily nearer Thee,
  From sin be daily freed.
  Each day let Thy supporting might
  My weakness still embrace;
My darkness vanish in Thy light,
    Thy life my death efface.
2
In Thy bright beams which on me fall,
  Fade every evil thought;
That I am nothing, Thou art all,
  I would be daily taught.
3
More of Thy glory let me see,
  Thou Holy, Wise, and True;
I would Thy living image be,
  In joy and sorrow too.
4
Fill me with gladness from above,
  Hold me by strength divine;
Lord, let the glow of Thy great love
  Through all my being shine.
5
Make this poor self grow less and less,
  Be Thou my life and aim;
Oh, make me daily through Thy grace
  More meet to bear Thy name.

"Each Day let Thy supporting might". Being a Christian is a daily matter. It's a matter of life. Life takes time to grow. May the Lord grace us each day, moment by moment.

Lord make me daily through Thy grace, more meet to bear Thy name. Grow in me today Lord, grant me today's supply of grace that all other things may recede!

Make this poor self grow less and less,

Be Thou my life and aim;

Oh, make me daily through Thy grace

More meet to bear Thy name.

Amen, Lord. Grant us all a new beginning today and grow in us!

Oh Jesus. 3. *We have the Spirit in our regenerated spirit, but there is a question as to whether or not we have an extra portion of the Spirit in our soul. *

I love these words: Each day let Thy supporting might my weakness still embrace; my darkness vanish in Thy light, Thy life my death efface. Lord, keep embracing me in my weakness. Change my darkness into light. Your life my death efface.

Lord, as this world grows darker and more evil, may Your love and joy blossom all the more in my life and heart.
