I know not why God’s wondrous grace

Assurance and Joy of Salvation Secured by Divine Provisions

English333
1
I know not why God’s wondrous grace
To me He hath made known,
Nor why, unworthy, Christ in love
Redeemed me for His own.

But “I know Whom I have believed
And am persuaded that He is able
To keep that which I’ve committed
Unto Him against that day.”
2
I know not how this saving faith
To me He did impart,
Nor how believing in His word
Wrought peace within my heart.
3
I know not how the Spirit moves,
Convincing men of sin,
Revealing Jesus through the Word,
Creating faith in Him.
4
I know not what of good or ill
May be reserved for me,
Of weary ways or golden days,
Before His face I see.
5
I know not when my Lord may come,
At night or noon-day fair,
Nor if I’ll walk the vale with Him,
Or “meet Him in the air.”

This song is a great encouragement and reminds me of 2 Tim 1; 12 very strong words of encouragement by Paul ! A servant of God who received conviction and full charge over in 3 days in direct confrontation with God!

Had to find this song today because we read the passage in 2 Timothy and the tune just started flowing. Thank you!

This hymn reveals the fact that man's deliverance and salvation is anchored on his conviction, knowledge and total dependence on Christ who alone is able to save to the uttermost through the various mysterious ways by which his hands may be revealed.

This hymn reveals how the creating of faith that leads to salvation is completely removed from man's own effort and the gimmicks that have become the hallmark of many a Christian leader today. It's all about what God does through the working power of His Holy Spirit. It's all about God; let's keep our messages simple and scriptural. May God help us.

This hymn captures the helplessness of man's capacity for himself revealing the real essence of the work of salvation in Jesus Christ. It showcases the hope in God's ability to rescue us irrespective of the deterioration of our situation.

I like this Hymn, It describes how our salvation in Jesus Christ is a supernatural work of God. It it not something that man has done, but God alone! Lesly Stilwell, what stops you from becoming a Christian?
