關於簡譜

簡譜（Numbered Notation）以 1 到 7 的數字來表示旋律中的每個音，而不是用五線譜上的音符。數字代表這個音在該曲調音階中的級數，而非絕對音高，所以無論用什麼調演唱，同一首曲子的簡譜寫法都一樣。

同一個八度內，數字 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 對應大家熟悉的唱名 Do Re Mi Fa Sol La Ti。數字上方加一點，表示高八度；下方加一點，表示低八度──不加點則是原本書寫的中央八度。

單獨一個數字代表一拍。數字後面緊接一條短橫線（-），表示這個音延長一拍。數字下方加一條底線則相反，表示縮短時值──一條底線是半拍，兩條底線是四分之一拍。「0」代表休止符，也就是停頓一拍。

譜面最上方的標示，例如「1=C」或「1=Ab」，說明級數 1（「Do」）對應的實際音高。小調樂曲則標示「6=X」──級數 6（「La」）才是真正的主音。音符上方的和絃名稱（如「C」或「G7」）一律使用熟悉的字母名稱，不會改成數字。

例如在「1=C」的標示下，數字 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 唱出來是 C D E F G A B；在「1=G」的標示下，同樣的數字 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 卻唱出 G A B C D E F#──形狀相同，調性不同。

This song is so true. It gives me such peace just reading the words. Christ surely is the end of all our wants and longings! How can we ever thank HIM enough! PRAISE THE LORD!

Indeed, there is no other life that we should ever long for. Only Christ's life in us -- as Paul states in Gal. 2:20, "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me." Hallelujah what a Savior!

To Sherry of USA: Make peace with the past and then bury it. Accept who you are today and go from here. Understand that we all are human and make mistakes; we have eaten from the husks that surrounded us but God's grace brought us to the well of water and now we are able to lift our heads with the dignity that only Christ can give.

The order of the verses should probably be governed by the content of the last verse that summarizes the themes of thirst, hunger, and riches. This was our song of the day in our family devotions this morning. May I encourage people to feed on Colossians 2:9-10. Christ is all, and in Him we find fulfillment.

Please pray for me. I have walked with God for over 30 years, yet when I sing this song it just points out that I still long to have the pain and sorrow erased from my heart so that when I shout & sing Hallelujah I have found Him there isn't a hollow echo in my heart. I want to find the peace that passes understanding and the joy that never fades.

I thank God that when I was feeding on the husk He found me and gave me food that I will never get hungry again. I was just crying out to Him and He gave me this song. Thanks that I could find it just now.
