My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus Christ, my righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.

When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.
When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,

His oath, His covenant, His blood,
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.
His oath, His covenant, His blood,
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.

When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
In Him, my righteousness, alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
In Him, my righteousness, alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.
When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
In Him, my righteousness, alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
In Him, my righteousness, alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.

The lyrics really ministered to me and I found deeper meaning than I had ever pictured. This is very relevant at this period of my facing some academic opposition. The second and third stanzas have really stood out and comforted my soul. Bless the Lord O my soul.

This song teaches that any foundation outside Christ is faulty. Jesus, I depend on You.

I love this song so much to the extend when I sing it, I will become emotional and I will began to cry. Jesus is my Rock and in Him I am standing; and all others ground are sinking sand. I love all parts of the song because they have words of healing in my soul.
Thank you my Father in Heaven for given me your Son Jesus Christ, who is my hope for ever Amen.

No shaking! He is my solid Rock.
This is my anthem.

I most especially love verse 2. Sometimes, Christ's face is veiled by problems, difficulties, and life's challenges, that He doesn't seem visible to me. Albeit, on remembering His words, "Lo, I Am with you always, even tilll the end of the ages", then, I realize that my anchor is gripped within the veil, despite the high and stormy gale screaming out impossibilities and uncertainties; I am rest assured that He's right beside me, regardless of what my feelings are, or what I think I see. Just because I don't see or feel Him, does not mean He's not there.
