A brilliant hymn, it inspires and got me through many times when I feel down and out. Praise God our heavenly father and eternal life!!!
A wonderful stirring hymn of praise and worship to the Saviour God the Lord Jesus Christ. The hymn covers most areas of the important Christian experience EXCEPT conversion and the second coming.
How about the following, the first on repentance and faith in the gospel, the second on the second coming......

We sing this Hymn in our church quite often and I love it; one of my favorite hymns of praise to our Savior. I still get choked up when I think of Him on that cross suffering for our sins, but He prevailed and reigns over all so it is why I love to hear the words "Praise Him, Praise Him! Jesus our blessed Redeemer! I just love when we sing this song. To me it is the best song of praise and thanksgiving to our Redeemer.

This will always been one of my most favorite songs growing up as a kid, sitting beside my father and mother every Sunday and Wednesday night.
