Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee;
Let the water and the blood,
From Thy riven side which flowed,
Be of sin the double cure,
Save me from its guilt and power.

Not the labor of my hands
Can fulfill Thy law’s demands;
Could my zeal no respite know,
Could my tears forever flow,
All could never sin erase,
Thou must save, and save by grace.
Not the labor of my hands
Can fulfill Thy law’s demands;
Could my zeal no respite know,
Could my tears forever flow,
All could never sin erase,
Thou must save, and save by grace.

Nothing in my hands I bring,
Simply to Thy cross I cling;
Naked, come to Thee for dress,
Helpless, look to Thee for grace:
Foul, I to the fountain fly,
Wash me, Savior, or I die.
Nothing in my hands I bring,
Simply to Thy cross I cling;
Naked, come to Thee for dress,
Helpless, look to Thee for grace:
Foul, I to the fountain fly,
Wash me, Savior, or I die.

While I draw this fleeting breath,
When mine eyes shall close in death,
When I soar to worlds unknown,
See Thee on Thy judgment throne,
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee.
While I draw this fleeting breath,
When mine eyes shall close in death,
When I soar to worlds unknown,
See Thee on Thy judgment throne,
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee.

My prayer this morning. Rock of ages cleft for me. I can't help myself. You alone can save me by Your grace. Let me hide myself in Thee.
Thank You Jesus!

The words " naked come to Thee for dress" reminds me that the only garment acceptable in heaven is to be clothed in the righteousness of Christ. A garment only given to those who by faith trust in the risen Christ. 2 Cor. 5:21

Only if this song were written in letters of fire and displayed on the highest billboard as humanity’s anthem!

Rock of Ages takes me back to 1980 in the Beit Hall at Goromonzi High School. A senior lady by the name Inviloata Sox comes to mind for her sweet melodious voice. Music too good and powerful to forget.

I am repeatedly humbled whenever I hear “Rock of Ages” and/or “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing! ” This version of Rock has Mr. Toplady’s original Calvinist double cure: saved from sin’s guilt and power. Come Thou Fount floors me every time I’m reminded that Jesus “interposed His precious blood,” for me! Praise Him!

I used to sing this song, longtime ago with my family, and it’s still my favorite. May God blessed you again and again. God is God all the time.

The Spirit moved me to search for this song, as I was found wanting in sin, it reminds me that I am saved through his Love and Grace. Praise be the Lord - Amen.
