If I gained the world, but lost the Savior, Were my life worth living for a day? Could my yearning heart find rest and comfort In the things that soon must pass away? If I gained the world, but lost the Savior, Would my gain be worth the lifelong strife? Are all earthly pleasures worth comparing For a moment with a Christ-filled life?

Had I wealth and love in fullest measure, And a name revered both far and near, Yet no hope beyond, no harbor waiting, Where my storm-tossed vessel I could steer; If I gained the world, but lost the Savior, Who endured the cross and died for me, Could then all the world afford a refuge, Whither, in my anguish, I might flee?

O what emptiness!—without the Savior ’Mid the sins and sorrows here below! And eternity, how dark without Him! Only night and tears and endless woe! What, though I might live without the Savior, When I come to die, how would it be? O to face the valley’s gloom without Him! And without Him all eternity!

O the joy of having all in Jesus! What a balm the broken heart to heal! Ne’er a sin so great, but He’ll forgive it, Nor a sorrow that He does not feel! If I have but Jesus, only Jesus, Nothing else in all the world beside— O then everything is mine in Jesus; For my needs and more He will provide.
I got this song when I was in the Full Time Training in Indonesia. I was really touched by the Lord and renewed my concecration upon Him. Yes, I must lose the world to gain the Lord more and more. Ich liebe Dich, Herr!!
I love this song because it remind me about the Lord and world. by the Lord's mercy and grace, I declare to all that I love the Lord Jesus and not the world nor the things of the world. The gospels remind me that we cannot serve the two master. I would rather choose the Lord because everything in world is temporal, refuse, dung, and are just vanity. May all the young people in the Lord's recovery may see this vision. We are for the Lord's recovery. The Lord be with you all saints. Amen!!!
This is one of my favorite song, because the the moment I heard this it reminds me that nothing in this world can satisfy us but the Lord Jesus only, only Jesus! Praise the Lord, that Jesus Christ is our satisfaction! and as young people , we should not lose the Savior rather, we should gained the Lord and lose the world. In this way we are being preserved by Christ Jesus!! Oh Hallelujah!!
Lord Jesus You alone can satisfy me. You alone can fill me. Lord Jesus, I know I won't be able to thank You enough for loving me so much, so marvelous, so unconditional! Lord praise be Your Name forever! Amen!
"O the joy of having all in Jesus!
What a balm the broken heart to heal!
Ne'er a sin so great, but He'll forgive it,
Nor a sorrow that He does not feel!
If I have but Jesus, only Jesus,
Nothing else in all the world beside—
O then everything is mine in Jesus;
For my needs and more He will provide."
Thank the Lord that we desire no more when we fully gain HIM..
I remember something about how the poor are blessed because they have no reason to turn to the world and no distraction from Jesus. I feel like the more I lose of the world each day, the more I gain of Jesus, and when the day comes that I overcome this entire age, then I will be able to say that I have everything in my Abba Father Jesus
"If I have but Jesus, only Jesus,
Nothing else in all the world beside—
O then everything is mine in Jesus;
For my needs and more He will provide."
Oh Lord Jesus, you are our everything! we are those who follow you wherever you go. My eyes wants to see only You, my heart wants to love only You! I dont want anything else, but YOU!
I love this song because it reminds that everything is vanity without God. Even if we own the entire world but without Him, everything is useless. Christ is the most precious One on earth..
