This hymn has been a favorite of mine for many years, but it came to mind more vividly when I sat at the opening of a cave on a mountain near Jerusalem, and enjoyed its protection from the hot sun. I also recalled how the Lord spared me certain death by making me miss my scheduled flight on Kenya Airways that crashed in Cameroon on May 4, 2007. Yes He hides my soul in the cleft of the rock, He provides us protection and traces our way in life.
