When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.
When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,

I rest on His unchanging grace;

His oath, His covenant, His blood,
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.
His oath, His covenant, His blood,
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.

When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
In Him, my righteousness, alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
In Him, my righteousness, alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.
When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
In Him, my righteousness, alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
In Him, my righteousness, alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.

Thank You Lord Jesus for Your oath, Your covenant and Your blood that support and will continue to support us in this whelming flood, even as we stand on You the solid Rock and rest on Your unchanging grace.

Looks like I’m one of many that are appreciating this hymn and Jesus Christ as our solid Rock recently.

This is actually a suiting message to my heart daily when things seem tough . When I relied solely on God He arises to my solution as the great advocate. Praise God Almighty Amen

When the world goes into panic, we stay anchored in hope. Hope in HIM, his salvation and our deliverer. Only his grace can save, only he builds my faith

The song gives comfort joy and peace, I sing it with joy and tears knowing that Jesus is my solid Rock. There was a time I faced battles which was beyond me but not beyond God I sing this song to give me comfort and behold Christ the solid Rock saved me and shine light into my darkness

My hope is built on nothing less than JESUS BLOOD AND RIGHTEOUSNESS!

Indeed, Christ is our righteousness and hope.
On Him we stand and we're sure that our tommorow is secure.
Thank You Lord!

This song is so comforting in distresses. Today for me the sun is shining and this song came up in my being. I am surprised at the recent traffic for this ‘old’ hymn. We know we need Him in our distress but even more in the shining.
Robert Smock, a good question.
Seems to me that Jesus blood and righteousness could be mistaken for two different things. Jesus denotes His humanity with precious blood. Sometimes people pray for compassion, humility, peace, actually the Lord is all these things to us. We just need more of Him not this and that. He IS our righteousness. Hopefully someone else will comment.

Why did you change the very first statement in the first verse? The original lyric is "My hope is built on nothing less than JESUS BLOOD AND RIGHTEOUSNESS. There is one who doesn't like mentioning Jesus' shed blood.
