The love of God is greater far Than tongue or pen can ever tell. It goes beyond the highest star And reaches to the lowest hell. The guilty pair, bowed down with care, God gave His Son to win; His erring child He reconciled And pardoned from his sin.

When hoary time shall pass away, And earthly thrones and kingdoms fall; When men who here refuse to pray, On rocks and hills and mountains call; God’s love, so sure, shall still endure, All measureless and strong; Redeeming grace to Adam’s race— The saints’ and angels’ song.

Could we with ink the ocean fill, And were the skies of parchment made; Were every stalk on earth a quill, And every man a scribe by trade; To write the love of God above Would drain the ocean dry; Nor could the scroll contain the whole, Though stretched from sky to sky.
Could we with ink the ocean fill,
And were the skies of parchment made;
Were every stalk on earth a quill,
And every man a scribe by trade;
To write the love of God above
Would drain the ocean dry;
Nor could the scroll contain the whole,
Though stretched from sky to sky.

O love of God, how rich and pure! How measureless and strong! It shall forevermore endure— The saints’ and angels’ song.
Indeed, it is the love that surpasses all understanding and which can not really be fully described. The psalmist was right when he said it is better than life.
John 17:26 And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them. This song came to mind as I was reading of the love of God. ❤️
O love of God. What an incredible inspiration.! It stirs something in me to love more. I see a little of what God has done and how He has included man in His great plan. What love. What mercy. He loved us even when we were enemies and sent His Son to reconcile us. That was only the beginning of His love. His love is so great that there will be no man that can even express a fraction of this love. We and the angels will sing for eternity and never express the whole of God’s love!
