Hidden Behind Every Scene

1
Hidden behind every scene,
Lovingly, sweetly operating,
One who is sovereign and wise,
Patiently guides even our eyes.
Look at My Son, the Beloved,
Sitting here at My right hand.
Jesus is King, yet He’s bound,
He cannot move until His people
    give Him ground.
Lord, we see You! Lord, we love You!
Lord, we submit everything to You.
Each day, Your ruling and Your reigning
Brings a sweet supply.
Oh, what a rich blessing!
We’re in the hand of our King.
Everything You hope to accomplish,
    do in me.
2
In us a small Kingdom seed,
Orders our steps, governs our deeds.
Jesus, enthroned in our hearts,
Gently He touches our every part.
Do you not know you’re the temple
Of your God, King of kings?
Through us our Lord has a way,
To rule and to reign here on the earth
    day by day.

Lord, You are the One always behind the scene and hiding Yourself. But You are in control all the time. I love Your hiding presence and ruling everything in me.

Often we're so quick to focus on our external environment; we may ask God, "What are You doing? Why won't You show me Your work? How are you using my outward environment to accomplish Your plan?" Our focus is so much on the temporary things we can see with our physical eyes (2 Corinthians 4:18-"for the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal"). But oh, this sovereign and wise One "patiently guides even our eyes... Look at My Son, the Beloved, sitting here at My right hand". God is turning our focus from the work being done in our environment to instead looking at His Son. This reminds me of Colossians 3:2-"Set your mind on the things which are above, not on the things which are on the earth." Lord, cause us to set our eyes and our mind upon You each moment!
